• Bummed, our drummer quit :(

As the title says...tonight our drummer quit. Gave a few different excuses from, "I don't like the songs" to "I'm getting into a different kind of music". Well, whatever I guess. We had planned on heading into the studio soon and get a good demo done, and I just ordered our first T-shirts...grrr. I guess better now than leaving us with a bunch of gigs to do and no drummer. Still bums me out though, I don't like moving backwards.

Hey Sis, buy a freaking drum machine and learn how to program it.
No really, I'm sorry to hear about that. But hey, don't rule out my drum machine idea OK?....They don't talk back, and they have far fewer issues than most human drummers!!?

In one year, we went thru 3 drummers and two bass players. It's been pretty stable lately but, hey, thats the music business. Good luck finding a replacement.

Like Mark said, it's just a drummer, you can find tons of "drummers" on Ebay.

I hope you find one...I know how it feels to want to get your thing off the ground...

and all these bass players suck ass too...around here they do...well the couple good ones that are here are interested but very busy....

this sucks!

Re: Bummed, our drummer quit

Drum machines are fun, but I still think they are no replacement for a real drummer. A real drummer is the way to go.

Things my drummer does that no drum machine can:

1. Buy beer when I have no $.
2. Drink my beer when I do.
3. Help me load my gear.
4. Learns songs with his own style(much better than I can "program", and much faster too)
5. Helps me write music.
6. Watches horror movies with me.
7. Loans me money when I'm broke.
8. Borrows money when he's broke.
9. Has TONS of stage prescence.
10. Helps me hook up with chicks.
11. Picks me up when I am down.
12. Loans me movies and CD's to check out.
13. Goes to shows with me.
14. Helps me design and build my own custom bicycle.

and most importantly;
15. Is one of my best friends and I love him like a brother.

Drum machines are great for writing music and stuff, but IMO if you want to sound like a real band and play like a real band onstage, unless your Retch, you need a drummer.
