My house is crawling with Longaberger baskets - my wife has tons of them. They're nice and all but I haven't figured out where to mount the pickups.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
I'm the person who peels all of the old stickers off of cases when they arrive so I don't have anything of that sort to share but here are a few that are interesting for other reasons.
First up, a graphic example of why you should always call your seller, discuss the proper methods of packing and shipping guitars, and insist the they employ them:
UPS luggage ape damage to my NAMM Warrior's case. Luckily it was on the body side of the case near the short horn. Had they tossed it out of the truck headstock-side first I'd probably have lost this one in transit:
This is a cool idea. The construction is the normal lining over foam but instead of the usual molded or plywood outer shell this one has plastic ribs running the length of the case covered by padded nylon. It's super light and doesn't mark up the walls when you lean it against them:
Artwork courtesy of a previous owner. It had been pretty well hidden via some black marker but morbid curiosity got the better of me:
This was (allegedly) one of Pete Townshend's guitar cases. Way back before the WWW and digital photography I used to buy a bunch of guitars from rec.music.makers.marketplace. Text only, no photos unless they were demanded and provided via snail-mail. Someone was trying to sell a Hamer Vintage S but describing exactly how cool the flame on it is in text simply isn't possible. He kept dropping the price and I finally emailed him; since we'd done business a couple of times in the past and since he was having some financial difficulties, he shot me a killer deal. Then came the bonus: he'd purchased from Southeby's a truckload of "Cases of the Stars" that had formerly housed guitars that had been donated, put on permanent display, or were otherwise MIA and offered me a freebie from the list. It's a Schecter case complete with dust, wood chips & a Southeby's tag that I could supposedly use to verify the item. Absolutely pointless & worthless but a mildly cool story and since it was a freebie with no value I don't have to wonder if it's authentic :
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!

At least the boxes are good for shipping out parts.

Ahhh... but Tim! You did not see the basket in its entirety!
Ron- I suppose so, soulmate bro.
Here is pics of the case that I used most during my college years for gigging. It was lost during a trip to Las Vegas (found 2 weeks later) and on a flight to Paris it got misdirected and ended up in Germany!!

Ditto...my wife is a consultant and gets huge deals on them. She does the shows and all that. She has over 100. Some are quite valuable. She has one that is worth over $350 dollars.
They are nice but i can't understand the price. Although she said the same thing about my Nagel im getting....
Hey NOTP.....I took a look at the pic of your case and had to HURRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and scroll alllllllllllllll the way to the bottom so I could tell ya this......the sticker you have on the side, with the bulldog in boxing gloves...thats for VMA 223(if I remember correctly, Walt Disney designed the bulldog and all) and Mr LPC was with that unit 2 years ago LOL
Yup, that's my VMA-223 sticker, very proud to have that on my case. My mom's friend brought it back from a Marine friend of hers when she went to visit him a few years ago. That was one of my very first guitar case stickers, and it's been peeled off and restuck several times! Yes, I recycle my stickers!! Take a look at my old Kelly case, many familiar stickers when compared to my Shannon Soloist case pictured at the start of this thread.
I'm always looking for more squadron stickers as I used to be quite a US military aircraft enthusiast as a teenager. Too bad I've only got one so far. But I've got those Canadian Navy/Marine (English/French) bumper stickers so that sorta counts.
A Protecter case would be cool, but alas, I had to settle for a TKL Les Paul case instead. Gotta decorate that this weekend!! And snap some pictures of my Taylor case while I'm at it.
Great cases everyone! Some of those really beat up ones look like they've got killer stories to tell.
