I drink 1-2 beers, and have 1-2 more onstage with me. I shake my hands a bit to get blood flowing to my fingertips. If I can I run through a few riffs with the amp turned OFF to get a feel for what's going on, tune up, and let 'er rip. I also try and draw energy from the crowd. If they are a big crowd I get excited and I want to knock them on their asses. If it's a small lame crowd I get pissed off, and I use that as my motivation to play hard. Either way I get onstage, turn the amp way the fuck up, and let the animal take over!!!

I don't eat before a gig - the vibration of the guitar gives me the shits if I have food in my belly
