Maybe it's the sound of one hand clapping?

What the hell!?

How did I get around the Flood Controller!?

Anyhoo, spookyness aside, it could be someone pulling a tooth (tying the string then yanking it out into a dish or cup)

Could it be somebody pissing out a kidney stone?
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

Re: NO ONE will guess this sound!

My initial impression is it's flesh being cut open and a knife being dropped. However, the flesh sounds tough.
1)Maybe slicing open/gutting a fish and then dropping a knife. The dropping sound sounds like it could be bone.
It could be a piece of meat being cut or an animal being gutted and then tossing the knife.
Or taking the innards out of an animal after cutting and then dropping the knife.

However, I also think it sounds 'plastic'
2)My girlfriend seems to think it is a cigarette pack cellophane being upwrapped and a lighter being dropped.
However, after tossing a lighter a few times, we figure the repeat rate isn't right as the second sound of the bounce is quite delayed in comparison to what we tried to achieve, it may be worth a shot tho.

whatever it is, it sounds light enough to bounce, but not so light as to bounce repeated times. Like the object being dropped would be longer not short as it seems a shorter object would bounce more. So possibly a knife of some sort not a lighter. The more I listen, the more I think it is being tossed away from the initial 'cutting sound and that the object could have some weight to it.

3)Ok, to add on.. it sounds like something getting stirred like pasta. So maybe something like mac n cheese being stirred and then the spoon boucing on the counter, maybe a wooden spoon or a plastic one.

4)it also 'sounds like' a letter opener opening a letter or an envelope with a cellophane window and then the letter opener being dropped, possibly on its end and then bouncing to land.

5)Cutting open a box with packing tape or cellophane tape and then dropping the knife or like a carton cutter. It does sound like it couled be a metal box cutter.

well, listening to Matts dissected clips -it could be someone eating and throwing away an object. Like eating a BBQ rib - tossing away the bone or a piece or chicken- tossing away the bone.

Re: NO ONE will guess this sound!

I listened again this morning. Now it sounds like someone is walking through the rain. Listening to Newcs clips..the sound of what I thought was 'eating' actually sounds similar to the pace of footsteps going through like shallow mud or leaves-something of that sort. The click at the end sounds almost mechanical to me now, like a shutter clicking or a possibly a door, like a screen door just opening and closing or handle turning.

Re: NO ONE will guess this sound!

Ok, listening again to the clips, the click at the end sounds more like a gate latch to me. It sounds like has a wood sound to it, but the act sounds like a latching of metal. I tried turning the dead-bolt on my door quick and it sounded similar..like a bolt drop latch at a gate (either opening or closing) on a wood fence after someone walks outside in the rain. So another guess is someone walking in the mud up to thier gate or door that has a lever or a door without a knob, but has the big thumb latch you push down.

That could have definitly been a possibility!

But we got our first tip today!

The ending 'clicky' sound is something being dropped on the table! Tadduuuuuuuuum the plot thickens!
