Wow great! A million notes a second! I'm thoroughly impressed.

This is even worse than that Sipos guy. ZERO MUSICALITY!

I don't know - he stayed in tune, was generally clean, sounded like he has actually worked on his vibrato, was capable of playing tasty slower passages, as well all the sweep picking/blinding speed stuff. Seemed much better than the Sipos to me. And he's younger.

I think we're a bit harsh on some of these kids. He's 11. There are plenty of "grown ups" here (myself included) who aspire to play that well. I know there are quite a few here who could hand that kid his arse on a platter, I betcha there are many, many more who couldn't...

That kid owns you and your loot.

Fact is, he puts dedication into the guitar, he does what he love,s stop criticising him.

The sippos guy is different, he actually sucks.

Yes, he can outplay me. But I'm not going to hail this kid for one second. Because if it's dedication, speed and musicality you're looking after, I'll go to China and visit one of the prodigies there, who actually do nothing else than play guitar (albeit classical) every hour.

Point being, I don't care about age really. His effort to getting to that plateau is certainly commendable, but that's where the praise ends here.

I think it's awesome. This kid can be absolutely stunning in a few years if he sticks with it.

Look at it this way. Yngwie started somewhere. So did every other shredder. The difference is that this kid probably has Yngwie's chops from when Yngwie was 16 or 17, yet he's only 11 now. Just imagine what he'll be able to do if technique isn't a barrier to him, like it was (is) to most of us.

This kid isn't to be praised because he's clearly very dedicated to the guitar (commendable, but not praiseworthy), but doesn't live in China?

have you heard that tape of Shawn Lane at 14? This kid could be that good.

Ok, so I failed miserably at explaining my point of view. I'll just leave it at that. Let the flaming begin.

he really puts his heart into it and it shows..

I think it is amazing that some kids just take to music like a fish to water...things didn't come that easy for me...I busted ass to get where I'm at...and I'm never satisfied..

He's got the mechanical part down. As he get's older he'll feel more comfortable expressing himself and putting forth the "soul".

Some people have technical ability, some people have soul...I think this kid rocks.

If you don't dig it I think you're jealous. I wouldn't want to cut heads with him.

Couldn't agree more. I couldn't imagine having those chops under my fingers at that age. You can say what you want but that little chubby chipmunked face dude is going to get a lotta junior high tail in the next couple of years.

Bretty good for that age, I'm impressed, the vibrato sucks, but I think it will improve.

                          G mentioned Shawn Lane before.
IMO young shawn was a super-fast uninteresting wanker. He was fast before Yngwie and all that. But he only had amazing speed, nothing else, his vibrato, pahrasing etc. sucked big time. He quit playing for an year or so and started again to develop musicality not chops. And he was THAT GOOD. His tone, feel, sense of melody, vibrato etc. was superb and he was one of the fastest players ever.

There are only a few players who started playing tastfully before they got chops. I think this Kid will do fine.

I'm on the same page as you guys. No, he doesn't have a lot of "soul" right now, but can you imagine how he'll sound once he does? He has the mechanical tools on his belt already, so his expression abilities will be limitless in a few years.

This kid is very impressive. Eleven years old? Sheesh. Makes me wish I started playing earlier than I did.
