How many breaks is it ok to have if you're playing a school sponsored graduation party? This is for young tikes...8th grade.

We barely have enough material to get through the whole 3 hours....and we get fucking tired playing for that long. Is i tok to have 2 or 3 15 minute breaks?

May 26th. We're playing a buttload of Iced Earth and In Flames covers. we're kind of confused as to how the people got in contact with us....being that we don't play much songs that the typical middle school kid would want to hear.

I would certainly think it would be fine to have a couple 15 minute breaks, sure. Put in a CD while you take your break, I've seen bands do that before.
Kinda funny... Iced Earth, huh? Cool. I would love for my kiddos to go to a school where they sponser metal like that! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] Awesome.

I've seen coverbands do sort of a 3:1 ratio in music:breaks before. No biggie methinks.

Depending how the crowd reacts.If they like it, 3 15 minute breaks is reasonable.If they dont, you may wantto take three 45 minute breaks.lol. I cant imagine girls dancing to Iced Earth.Then again, i thought is was weird to see them dancing to metallica and megadeth.

the acoustic top 40 rock band i play in takes a couple 20 min breaks and three sets in a 4 hour gig. you gotta take em'. so i'd say take two 20 min breaks at this gig. your not dealing with clubowners here that can make you lots of money, it's a school! don't worry about it. Drip - Is the school aware of the music you play, or did someone just drop your name when they asked for a band? I'd defintitely check that out before you waste your time setting up only to be stopped in the first bar of the first song and booted (or escorted) out.
