Holdsworth - In The Mystery (Metal Fatigue), loved the solo when I first heard it back in the day, still dig it.

OH God! I love that Steve Stevens story in MAnnys! I remember bumping into him in 1986 in Rudy's Guitar. A lot of people were staring at him when he came in the door. I heard someone say "I think that's Steve Stevens". I got closer to see since he looked different in person. I was 16 and I walked up to him and asked "Are you Steve Stevens?" He turns around real rude and says "What if I am?!" Everyone in the store stopped what they were doing and stared at us. SO I answered him back.."Well I guess you're not ...cause he sucks and wouldn't show his face in this store!" Everyone laughed at the midget and Rudy was pissed. He is a great player but he is a major ass.

What's great about these stories is that it's so obvious that these people *want* to be recognized just so they can be rude to the people who try to talk to them.

If you don't want to be bothered in public, don't walk around with 2 foot high poofy hair.

he's a bit of a mix between Uli and Ronnie LeTekro..IMO.

Another "80's" story...I was in Rudy's Music Store playing some strat. I was fooling around with some walking bass jazz chords stuff and I see a gorgeous blonde girl walk in. You knew she was money...I knew I saw her in some magazine. Anyway while I am checking her out I kept playing and all of a sudden some guy behind me picks up a Gretch guitar and starts wailing. I kept playing and turned to see who it was jamming to my chord comp. I look down and I see black and white cowboy boots. It was Brian Setzer. He had been shooting a Pepsi commercial up in Rye Playland park in CT and someone had stolen his guitar. He was looking for another Gretsch type. The gorgeous blonde model strolls over and he hung out for a while and jammed, talked guitars. He was a 100% gentleman and decent guy. His work on records does not reflect what he can really play.
