Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

"Limelight" by Rush

Also, pretty much the entire Permanent Waves album.

Lately, however, I've been focused mostly on aimless noodling, so I haven't been playing anyone else's stuff...

ah, me ol' favourite.

the riffs/songs I seem to gravitate towards would include:
Gary Moore - Victims of the Future, Once in a Lifetime
Living Colour - Type, Middle Man, Leave It Alone
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast, 2 Minutes to Midnight
Megadeth - Skin o' My Teeth, Symphony of Destruction
Dokken - Kiss of Death, In My Dreams, Breaking the Chains (seems to be a JCF staple! )
Ozzy - I Don't Know, Crazy Train, Bark At The Moon
Dio - Don't Talk To Strangers, Rainbow in The Dark, Last In Line

Nice choice, I love playing Desperate People. Cool, chord progression in that one.

They are a cool band to see. I wish they would go back on the road. I saw them twice in their day. The first time in '88 in support of Vivid. Saw them in Tipitina's in New Orleans. It was insanely packed (and it is a small place). I fought my way up close so I could see Burnin' Vernon in action. Awesome player in person.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

my own band's stuff, but just putting anything from Josh Groban to classical to Zep, to The 'Ryche... jamming with anything and everything.

cover tune would have to be AIR by Jason Becker...or anything off of perpetual burn.

It changes but right now top four are:
Death - Symbolic
Death - Bite the Pain
Death - The flesh and the power it holds
Van Halen - Unchained

Right now it's Rebel Yell, but kind of my own version which is somewhere between the original and the 2002 acoustic version.

Whether I'm playing for 5 minutes or 2 hours, I can't put down my guitar until I've played Rebel Yell.

Have you caught any of their recent stuff? Just in case you missed it, they released a new studio last year, Collide0Scope. And a live album earlier this year, Live At CBGBs, from back in '89. That was the homecoming show they played at CBGBs after getting back from their support slot on the Rolling Stone's Steel Wheels tour.

There's a live DVD in the works too....
