• Impossible-to-find Ebay item (ID keychains) - HELP

You'd think that Ebay offers everything, but nooooooooooooooo.

All I'm trying to find is a simple keychain that has a clear window where you can insert a little rectangle of paper that displays your name, address, and phone number that you've written on it. The holder can be leather or plastic, clear on both sides or opaque on one side. But it has to have at least one clear side.

I need one of these because I have been known to lose my keys in public places. I sit down somewhere (movie theater, restaurant, even sitting in a car seat) and I shift around and my keys will somehow find their way OUT of my DEEP pockets and slide out onto the ground/floor without me knowing. I can save myself from near heart attacks in the future if I have the piece of mind that if I DO lose my keys, someone will return them to me with my contact info on the keyring.

I've searched every department store in my area. I've done Google searches. I've looked on Ebay for wholesalers and individual items. Strangely enough, I have NOT seen them anywhere. It's just a stupid simple keychain. You'd think they'd be had by the dozen or something. Noooooooo.

This is where you come in. Ebay has a HUGE number of keychain-related listings, so maybe I've missed it. Maybe I'm using the wrong search words. I don't know.

Here's a general idea of what I'm looking after. I made this picture in MS Paint... excuse the crudity of my photoslopping.

Seems a little dangerous... If your house and car keys are on the ring that you lose, if it has your address on it, a less-than-honest person could clean you out.

Could always omit the address on the label.

Well, what do you do if you lose your keyring that has your housekeys and carkeys on it, and there's no identification? You're screwed, it seems to me. It's not like losing a credit card where you can call the credit card company up and get them to cancel your card and issue you a new one.

      Any suggestions?

Seems like I seen something like that in a local gift/card store in my area. Kind of like a Hallmark Card store. Did you check something like that? Maybe even Wal-Mart?

The Hallmark Store sells the most ridiculously overpriced merchandise I have EVER seen. They make a killing with their cards alone!

          But alas, none there.

You could use a third party return service, with their info on the tag, like http://tracertags.com/html/tracer_tags.html

Oh MAN those are BITCHIN'!!! I'll look into those a little bit more. Gotta make sure they work up here too in the cold desolate north known as Canada.

Those remind me of the Snagg microchips that Carvin installs in their guitars to give identity tracing back to the owner. If a guitar/bass is stolen, scan it, and it will reveal its owner. Cool.

I know around here if you get a grocery card for your key chain it has a note on the back that if lost, drop them in the mail and they should make it back to you...via the store...after some time in the postal service...

There you go. A much safer option.

you could always rent yourself a Post Office box and put that address on there. That way people can return the keys to you without giving them the address that that front door unlocks.

NOTP, how about chaining the keyring to your pants?

How did you find those, Jacksonfan? I've been looking all over for some just like that. However, they don't ship to Canada.

One for every key you own

I've got a Marlboro logoed key ring like this, and yes I clip it to my belt loop so I don't lose them or get jabbed in the nads with a house key. I may sound like the High School janitor - or sound like I'm wearing spurs - when I walk, but:
                            A) No one gives me shit about it
                            B) I don't lose my keys like "the cool people" do

And yes, the chain thing above is a bit fruity (not to mention the Boy Scouts belt ).
What is that, "Clip to the Right, Open All Night - Clip to the Left, Sorry I'm Taken"?
