Yeah but there's a distinct difference between a hormoning angsty teenager telling an "old fart" to "hit the road" or "take a hike" and "suck my fucking dick you old faggoty-ass faggot", or worse, shooting them dead.

Amen. Why society requires a license to drive but not one to breed defies logic. As if bringing a new human being into the world isn't more significant than the privilege to drive (no, it is not a "right" to drive).

You hit the nail on the head, Bill. Not a very PC way to put it....but it could have been worse (and I am sure it would have been worse if you and I were discussing it behind closed doors). I don't know what Cleveland is like (I can imagine) but New Orleans is the center of the fucking universe for the creation of useless cannon fodder. Of course, the system that encourages this behavior is so broken down that the corner will never be turned. I am actually a Democrat, but on these issues I am about as conservative as you can get.

Thanks for all the input guys.I tried something a little bit different today and it is amazing how serene the house is now.I packed her and her stuff,drove to her grandmothers house( her father lives there also)and dropped her ass off!I told both of them enough is enough,its your turn!Chunked her stuff out the truck and drove home.Before I left I told her not ever step foot in my house again unless she can respect her mother and I.Talk about a great feeling.You want to act like an adult and think you can treat people any old way you like?Well,here is your first taste of the real world,maybe she will learn a small lesson in humility!

Times have changed, but that doesn't mean it's right. Kids ARE more belligerent and quick to smart-mouth an adult. And I'm not just talking teenagers. I'm talkin' 8, 9, 10 year olds.

I live on base and you wouldn't believe some of these lil' shits runnin' round here. There's one lil' pack of ankle biters who think they're some sort of gang and will tell ya this is their street and they'll do what they want. I've had the most trouble from a kid and his family who live 2 doors down. This kid purposely looks for any opportunity to start trouble. He will cuss at you at the drop of a hat and talk all types of smack which causes other kids to follow his lead. I'm a smartass, so I piss him off with my sarcasm. And trust me, he is a DIRECT reflection of his parents. They seem to think I have no right to give him grief when he's startin' shit around my house. We've had several run-ins with them and a couple of them ended up with me having to call Security Forces to escort his ebonics spewin' mama back to her house. The final straw was when his daddy got back from the desert and decided to get in the mix. He and I had words a couple of times but it was the third time where I'd had enough. He was disrespectful, yellin', cussin', and threatening me. I wanted to get my point across so right in front of his family on my doorstep I laid down the law. It went like this (let's just refer to him as Airman First Class Snuffy): [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Me: Ya know? I've had enough of you, your wife, and your kid, so we're gonna make today's conversation nice and legal-like.

A1C Snuffy: Huh? What? What you effin talkin bout? I effin blah blah blah and effin blah............

Me: (throwing my hand up in his face) Shutup... NOW!! A1C Snuffy, I am Master Sergeant Halsey, your superior, and I am givin you a direct order to shut your mouth, gather your family and return to your home. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

A1C Snuffy: What? You ain't my effin' supervisor blah blah blah effin blah blah blah.

Me: One more fuckin' word outta your mouth, A1C Snuffy, and I WILL CALL Security Forces and have them apprehend and detain you right here, right now, in front of your family, for insubordination and failure to follow a direct order in violation of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice.

His wife's jaw dropped and he and his family just walked away without sayin another word. I'm glad he didn't continue cuz I didn't wanna go through the hassle of bringing him up on charges; long, drawn out process. I was this stern because I have legal authority to do so and this guy and his kid needed to know I meant business. I had previously talked to A1C Snuffy's First Sergeant and found out about him. This guy was nothing but a screw-up and any more trouble from him probably would have been his ticket out the front gate. Hell, he's almost my age and only an Airman. He's lost rank twice.

Sooooooooooo, back to the subject at hand, I am of the opinion that kids are a direct reflection of their parents. There are exceptions, but for the most part, kids are worse these days because parents are more lenient and less involved in their kids lives. Ya gotta lay the smack down on 'em when they screw up! It's a vicious cycle. A1C Snuffy probably had shitty parents as well.

Anyone who has the fortitude to *break* the cycle...to take it upon themselves to raise their kids the *right way*...when they could easily fall into "fuck that, what was good enough for me is good enough for my kids"...they are a true hero and have my utmost respect.

Actually, I would. I spent eight years in the Air Force and I saw quite a few smartassed dependents. There was a roving group of dependent girls, aged about 13-15 years old, that were running around and screwing every airman that was STUPID enough to go for it. A friend of mine was just that stupid and got a court-martial for humping one of the 13-year olds (plus a few other offenses).

Shortly before I got out, a group of dependent boys actually BURNED the base mini-BX to the ground! I kid you not. From what I heard, their parents (or at least the military member parent) got raked over the coals for this (no pun intended).

I think a lot of it is the fact that their military lifestyle conflicts with the peer pressure they get everywhere else.
