      Re: D-Day 61 years

My wife's grandfather, who lives nearby, was on one of the first boats to land on Utah Beach that day. He earned a Bronze Star and his first Purple Heart later that day, and later earned two more Purple Hearts. It's hard to describe the respect and gratitude I have for him and his fellow soldiers (hell, any US soldier at any time, for that matter). Nice post.

As a infantryman, this is an emotional subject for me. God bless my brothers who fell on that day.

In respect, I'm going to watch "The Longest Day" tonight and
the beginning of "Saving Privet Ryan".
