Re: Subway Sandwich Discovery..

Many summers ago, my dad and I were preparing corn on the cob. When the corn was done, he reached into the pot and pulled out one of the cobs. There was a worm-thingy sticking halfway out of one end of the cob, cooked to death when probably trying to escape and solidly stuck in place as a little shrivelled white ribbed worm. Another time, my brother really took his time eating and savoring his box of expensive Belgian Christmas chocolates over a few months past the expiry date. He picked up one chocolate, ate it, and looked into the tray of chocolates and saw the chocolate crumbs. He stuck his finger in, trying to get the crumbs, and brought his finger to his mouth. He looked at the remaining crumbs in the tray and saw them moving and crawling around. He flipped out. We still don't know how his box of chocolates got infested with little crawly insects. I've got a Subway, Blimpies, Quiznos all not too far from my house, but I prefer my subs from either the Wawa or Quik-Check convenience stores.

Ok this is one thread that I *really* wish I hadn't opened. Like that line in the movie "8MM" says, there are some things you can't "unsee"...

This is why I never look at my food anymore...just eat it and be on your way...

Now might not be the best time to tell your fiance that the average person eats like 10 spiders in their lifetime (while they sleep at night). I'm not sure on the exact number. Also with peanut butter and all those type of "factory processed" foods, the average person eats like 5 lbs of bugs in their lifetime. Like I said, the numbers may be a little off because I read the article a while back.

Hmmm, is that why I love peanut butter so much? I think I'm going to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a little while.

Some starving people in Africa would die for a subway sandwich with extra centipedes...

Damn Sully, I typically remember to post that but for some reason, I forgot about that this time.

Typically Dross is also brought up in a topic like this too.

It just occurred to me that most centipedes are pretty big. I remember from my Invertebrate Zoology lab two semesters ago. Being that big, it'd be weird for the Subway people to miss it.

                            Centipede:

Perhaps it was a millipede instead, those generally tend to be smaller than centipedes.

                            Millipede:

Random picture I came across when searching for centipede and millipede pictures:

                                Re: Subway Sandwich Discovery..

AlexL.. it was the new Subway in Elk River by Walmart.

This was one of those instances that happens occasionally. You find something in your food that does not belong there. Fortunately it wasn't the old razorblade in the candy bar trick our parents used to warn us about on halloween and nobody was hurt. It probably was a millipede judging by the pictures NOTP posted.
