I'm in a band and we've got a full lineup but i'm sick of having to dumb my guitar parts down for the rhythm guitarist and our singer just sucks... BUT they're the only local guys around...
So my question is..
Is it okay to have a "Recording band" and a "Live band"
Cause i wanna record all guitars/bass and have my friend from another scottish abnd sing for us on record so we actually sounda good... Then pull in the dudes i work with at the moment for live shows where, i hate to say it, "exactness" isn't required... Whaddya's think?
I'm not saying our other guitarists are shite, but all of our songs are hitting the 200bpm mark and one has a section (inc solos) at 16ths at 210bpm... and we're always using folky time siognatures like 1/28 and switching between groupings of 3 and 4 and they just can't keep up...
So whaddya's think?
