Re: Eagles farewell performance on Bravo...
Did they play Desperado yet? I just turned it on and that's my favorite Eagles song.Scott
Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

if this is the same farewell show that was on a few weeks ago it was torturous. it was truly awful. talk about lackluster and lame.
the hell freezes over show i saw was MUCH better. also, i really like don felder - he's a very good guitarist.I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

No Desperado yet AFAIK. I have no idea if they had another on cable before recently. There are interview portions in between the performance segments. These guys are so unpretentious & pro, even at their lackluster best they still sound good. Hey, the crowd that paid money to see them doesn't seem to mind. I did think it would be something you would probably see in a casino or a lounge but they're still tight. That double neck Felder plays on Hotel looks like an interesting axe..a white musicman? Looks like He's been playing Musicman most the night.

I'm watching it right now.
I saw them on this tour last summer. I was at first disappointed that they had so many people in the band (extra drummers, keyboard players, backup singers, horn section, etc)but as they night went on they really layed it down well. There's a reason band like that have the reputation they do, and it shows in a live setting. It does seem kinda bland watching it on tv, but I think it's because the DVD doesn't really capture the "live" feel of it. One of those "you had to be there" kind of things. I agree that it sucks that Don felder isn't playing...I heard him, Henley and Frye had some sort of falling out. But the show was still extremely tight, especially the vocal harmonies.
Oh, and that quilt top Joe Walsh was playing is a Carvin.

Man, I was on the fence on one of those arch top carvins, spending my money on a cs jackson. Seems like a good deal (less than 1600), but feel and rep. I'll go with the cs jackson.

Farewell? I just saw them like 6 weeks ago. Yeah, Joe plays lots of guitars in a night, changing after every song. And I was surprised at how many guitars they all played used single coils. Lots of guitars with P90's all night long.Courtesy, Integrity, Self-control, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit
