    Great!!
I knew your amp would rip!
I probably want to have a Rect for heavy stuff and Bogner for some clean and lead..2amps setting.. that is my plan.

        Re: First Gig Tonight!

Yeah, this one came up kinda quick Mike. This one was at the Frog Pond in Stratford. The next one is at the Down Town Cafe in Bristol on the 22nd, but if thats too far we are playing at the Corner Pocket in Orange on the 30th. That one is a benifit for the Skylar Foundation. there are 4 other bands on the bill. Should be pretty cool.

          Re: First Gig Tonight!

We played at the Frog Pond in Stratford. The place was MOBBED. I am talking packed to the rafters mainly with chicks. I love all grown up ex-80's metal chicks and there were mobs of them.
Yea, we kicked ass. Jim was TEARING it up at the end of Photograph. I would guestimate he ripped at least a 1:30 shred fest at the end of that song. His Rectifier KILLED. Really. It was all over the club. Jim's sound was everywhere. Loud and proud. I brought my Boss GT-6 and unfortunately I had to plug it into a rack system that had a ton of stuff in it. Behringer V-Amp Pro. Harmonizer, some kind of cheesy mic preamp, and a QSC solid state power amp. Yuck. The other bands guitarists sound with the V-amp Pro was good. He played very loud with stereo chorus spread on EVERYTHING. My GT-6 was set up and programmed to use a straight up tube poweramp or at least a tube amp going into the effects return with no frills. Oh well, no biggie. My sound and tone was good, it just wasn't loud enough. They also didn't pan any of the guitar sound into the monitors so Jim couldn't hear me at all. Actually, none of us could hear each other. The soundman did a really good jpb of fucking up our sound for 3 out of the 10 songs. There was a low end feedback that literally shook the club. He tried to isolate it by turning different sliders down until he found it. That did wonders for our sound. We should have gotten a sound check as promised but these guys brought enough equipment to play the Garden. They had at least 5 4' racks filled top to bottom. They had the large stadium sized Carvin PA bins. You know.. the 6' tall ones. They had stadium sized Carvin wedge monitors. They were the largest monitors I have ever seen and I have seen alot of monitors. This band had so much equipment that they had most of it lined up along the wall leading to the stage with just the cabinets on stage. Anyway, Megahertz are a great bunch of guys and we really appreciated the opportunity to open for them.
Next time I am bringing my Mark III. Nuff... said.

I agree bro. Its the one/two punch. A certain knockout.
BTW... stop shopping for an amp. You already have one!!

Mark my words, I will never get rid of that amp. That doesn't mean that I won't ever get the illusive Marshall 2555 I've been looking for or perhaps a Mark III like yours. That thing frikkin smokes!

                GAS sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

                  Re: First Gig Tonight!

Sounds like you guys had a good time despite the soundman and goofy fridges that the other band brought.

                  I absolutely love gigging out!
