These actions are by a small percentage of the Arabic and Muslim population. Holding them all responsible is not a good answer.

I disagree. I think that's the only way these people are going to be forced to give up the terrorists that live among them...
Maybe if they're all "spanked" they'll give up who's hiding among them.

We'd have to start with Saudi Arabia and that's not going to happen the US Govt. is too tight with the Saudis.
First off, my heart goes out to all the English families that are suffering from this terrible event. They as a nation have always stood by us.
No, this is not a whole race that is doing this, it is a minority. I don't agree with the invasion of Iraq. Do I think that we should kick some terrorist ass? You better believe it! Invading an entire country doesn't make us look good and just stokes the coals of the radicals over there. We have the technology to make effective surgical strikes against the terrorist training facilities. We have the technology to figure out where the financing is coming from and stop it. Invading an entire country was a bad tactic, period. I'll bet that in hindsight, you will see that more terrorist attacks will have taken place during the "occupation" of Iraq and Afganistan. Not only that, Iraq is in state of anarchy. I'll say one thing... they need a very firm government over there to keep things in check. I'm not a Saddam supporter by any means, but he wouldn't have put up with the bombings etc... that are going on "in country".
Do you think that sadaam should still be in power?Murdering millions? The battle front is in bahgdad, not boston. Its going to happen in one place or another, get a clue.
Do you remember 9-11?That was before Iraq. What did we do to deserve that? Did we deserve it?Liberals are playing the the BLAME AMERICA FIRST card and it makes me fuckin sick. How about blaming the idiots doing the terrorist attacks? They hang women for showing thier ankles in public, they dont want you to listen to music, beleive in jesus or god, the list goes on.They HATE our way of life, and if you dont think the war in IRAQ is important, then why, why do the terrorist do what they did today and insist that we leave? They know if we succeed in iraq, they are done.Plain and simple.
Man, that's really messed up. Everyone over there is in our thoughts, and I pray the casualties are low.
These cowardly bastard terrorists need to be taken out. I agree that we have to start fighting like they do..to hell with protocol (sp?) and political correctness. Why do we have to follow by the rules when they damn sure don't. Throw that fucking rule book out and get these bastards.
Aside from military action on our and our allies part, the intelligence agencies, and humanitarian support groups in place in Iraq and Afghanistan, what do you propose we do about the terrorists??
Seriously, I'd love to hear ideas.
I'm not against all arabs/muslims, I'm sure there are some upstanding Afghan/Iraqui and other members of that race and religion that are terrific people.

Islam does believe in Jesus and God. There are lots of Christians who don't want you to listen to any music, should we kill them too?
The attrocities to which you are refering are few and far between, and NOT supported by the governments.
here's an idea... Timmothy McVeigh came from the mid-west. We should kill all midwesterners because McVeigh is a terrorist.
I agree completely that we should be getting rid of terrorists, but wholesale destruction of a country won't get rid of terrorists, they'll just move somewhere else. Identify the terrorists, kill them and move on. The countries in which they are hidding will thank us for it.
And yes I remember 9-11, I could see the pentagon burn from my house.
Dissenting opinions is a part of the freedom that the Armed Forces (thank you) have fought for. Nobody has a perfect solution to the problem at hand. However, through dissenting opinons and calm discussion, maybe someone can come up with one. There's no reason to tear apart your fellow JCF'r just because he/she feels that certain tactics aren't working.
Indeed. While folks here have succeeded in turning this into a partisan politics, liberal vs. conservative argument, people in England are DYING, SEVERLY INJURED, OR MOURNING A LOVED ONE.
How about some focus on the events of the day! Like sympathy for the victims? Reflecting on the losses?
You can argue the political rhetoric all you want tomorrow.
What truly frightens me with this new attack, even though it is not on our soil, is the fact that it happened.
There was no warning, no intelligence flags raised, nothing! This was not an isolated incident, this was a well planned, financed, and executed plan to disrupt their transit system, inflict maximum casualties, and incite fear among the populace.
That's saying that even though the terrorists infrastructure has been damaged, and their finances subdued, they are still active (deadly active).
This is AFTER 9/11, which has forced all countries to increase our surveilance tactics and intelligence networks to increase.
This is frightening.
Sadly, I don't think Sept 11 was it for us here on our soil, and I pray that I'm wrong, but I don't think I am (shudders).
IMO, this is getting to epidemic proportions. This is not WWI or II, not a Korea or Vietnam. This is unconventional warfare at it's finest. Do I agree with the collateral damage incurred, by all means, no, it sucks. At the same time, there is no alternative that I see.
I sure hope England doesn't get angry and start parading Iraqi's around with underwear on their heads. That would be devastating, but I'm sure the press will be looking for it.
Here's a thought,.. maybe we should install a draft for the liberal point of view personnel, send them to Iraq/Afghanistan, put them out as a reconnaissance group ahead of our front line Marines, let them bring their psychotherapists and sit down and 'understand' these terrorists. This way by the time the Marines get there, they can all sit down and have coffee and tea together. Buddy,...buddy

My thoughts and prayers to our friends in the UK, I hope that all of your friends and loved ones were well clear of the areas affected.
As for the rest of this discussion, I honestly don't know why Islamic terrorism surprises or shocks anyone anymore. We've watched this very problem grow and these very tactics be honed for decades now in various places around the world yet we're still shocked when it happens yet again. Somehow, no matter how often these acts are repeated, we (the collective "Western Societal" we) always allow ourselves to wallow in self-loathing as we are forced to listen to the siren's song of, "... but it's our own fault." It isn't. These animals and the despicable acts they perpetrate are the products of the sick societies from whence they came and those societies are exclusively the products of the beliefs of those who dwell there.
There will be a reckoning but not soon. A few thousand in New York, a few hundred in Madrid, a few dozen in London, a few each week in Israel … those are small numbers in the overall scheme of things, far too few in the eyes of most of the world to merit the actions necessary to end this evil. But over the years as our enemies, who are not constrained as we are, gain ever-more wealth, expertise, and experience the thousands will become tens of thousands, then hundreds, perhaps more. Eventually we will struggle past our self-loathing and drive the barbarians back from the gate … or go quietly into the night.
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!
All this talk about killing "ragheads" and Muslims is sad. THAT is intolerance of the worst kind.
I've had the privelege of knowing many Arabs and Muslims (not all of them are Arabs BTW). They are not evil. However, wanting to annihilate a race is. Their religion is no more or less evil than Christianity, Judaism, etc. The Quran does not encourage this sort of thing any more than the Bible. The truth is that Christians have been some of the most violent and intolerant people throughout history.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.
