Don't take this the wrong way, but I've got a life that doesn't include hockey. When I read the paper, the sports section comes right out...and I don't read it. The only games I watch for Baseball and Football are the play off games, and the end games.

I've watched hockey a few times, and I liked what I saw, but I've just never gotten into it...I don't mean like, it's not good, it's just, I've never said "hockey at 5, got to be there".

I generally don't watch TV, because I'm never in the "cave", I'm always busy.

So now...wtf did happen?

Not to be a dick about this, but man, how many threads have Chuck, Tetsuo, or I started about hockey in the past 300 or so days? Now you decide to get involved on this one? Pick up a newspaper, watch the 10 o'clock news, ask your neighbor. But wake up and watch the world around you. You don't have to be a hockey nut to know what happened. It's one of the most significant events of modern professional sports, just about everyone should know at least the basics.

I read the paper EVERY day. Like I said (maybe you missed it, so please look again)

I DO NOT READ THE SPORTS SECTION.

I generally do not click on "sports" threads, as I said, I'm not really too into sports. You don't want to say anything, and would rather just bicker at me about it, that is fine.

Also, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the search function blows. EVERYTIME I've tried to use it, it never gives me what I'm looking for, so I refine my search, and I get

We're passionate about hockey, just like others are with baseball. Your post is very much like walking up to a DJ at a wedding and dragging the needle across the record during Kool and the Gang's "Celebration".

I simply refuse to answer your question, because it has been discussed here several times. If you're not a sports fan, then why even bother with this thread? That aside, shouldn't you have somewhat a clue before you try to "add" to the thread?

Being an australian hockey fan I had to get satellite to watch the nhl, espn specifically, so they better get back together or its lame rebroadcasts of fox sports local station coverage for me this season...assuming there is one

So they're a step up from the beginning of what would have been last season. They've actually come to a preliminary agreement.

This has yet to be ratified. Still much that can go wrong.

Real hockey fans will put all the bullshit behind them as soon as the puck is dropped. If any fan stays who away from the NHL because of a labor dispute wasn't a real NHL fan to begin with.

Besides the late great Dan Kelley I think Gary Thorne is by far the Best play by play guy hockeys ever had. Mike Emrick is good too.
