How do you smoke weed?
Step 1: Take a hit/puff/drag
Step 2: Hold it for as long as you can
Step 3: Repeat until your supply is gone, you're cut off, you pass out, your Mom/Dad gets home, or you are too light headed to take another hit.

Now try replacing Step 1 with just taking a deep breath without the joint, then proceed to Steps 2 and 3.
Same effect, without spending money.

It's not the THC in your system, it's the Oxygen Deprivation. That's what relaxes you. That's what puts your mind in such a "mellow" state that you can spout profound philosophy. You get so relaxed that your internal barriers are taken down and you don't have any mental blocks that keep your thoughts under control and you say whatever pops into your head.
All the weed does is burn up, and the unfiltered smoke causes you to cough and your lungs to get really hot, as well as coat your mouth and fingers/roach clip/hitting stone/pipe with resin.
You're paying someone to sell you a bag of something that does nothing to contribute to your "high".

But like I said, you smokers know all about it cuz you read it in a book that depends on a loyal smoker following (High Times) or heard about some study done by some University "experts" that either deal it or smoke it themselves, and even if you tried it without a joint you'd swear it was latent chemicals embedded in your system, and had absolutely nothing to do with Oxygen Deprivation [img]/images/graemlins/eyes.gif[/img]

So to anyone who says it's the weed, smoke it like a cigarette instead. You will NOT get the same feeling, you'll just burn it up faster.

I disagree on most of what is here, as over here we smoke a bit differently but still get buzzed... and ingestion also has clear and obvious effects.... But I don´t think it´s worth it to argue this against such a clearly biased position. Read your own words and you´ll probably know what I mean.

But after doing all of the drugs you´ve listed and more, (and more importantly KICKING all of them save weed over ten years ago, weed is purely still here by choice, I don´t smoke normally anymore either) I can assure you: You have quite a few heavy misconceptions as well, THC not being psychoactive being the most fallacious of those evidenced here. We can gladly talk about it, but not like this [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

I will only say: Heroin and Cocaine can ALSO be smoked, and are on a regular basis by many users... For some reason, they still get high... and for some reason cigarettes are addictive DESPITE added filtration of the smoke... [img]/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img]

Its hard to judge something you've never tried.

I happen to be allergic to pot so I hate it. But I think pot is harmless compared to alcohol. Being a former bar owner I can tell you this, I have never had to break up a fight between potheads.

Correction duly earned on the Coca/Cocoa point - thought it sounded funny when I wrote it, but couldn't quite place it. Musta been thinking about Coca-Cola (which, according to company documents, did at one time contain a high concentration of coca (not cocoa) extract - I had an aunt that was addicted to it as much as if she was snorting the powder variety)

As for the other points, I stand by my statements. I did not smoke "one or two times". I did it enough to get "the full benefit", and unless yours is laced with something else, whatever you think you're getting out of it is most likely psychologically induced - you THINK you're getting "something", so your mind/imagination generates the imagined effects of whatever you think you're getting.

Wow, Matt. I agree with you on almost everything! But that is just ridiculous. The effects of weed are not just psychologically induced. A simple placebo test would prove this (and the strong effect of a placebo...).

I don't hold it in like a teenager, rather I smoke it like I do a cigarette and I don't go through violent bouts of coughing, but yes, I'm sure it's "psychological" [img]/images/graemlins/poke.gif[/img]. Where exactly are you getting this information that pot has no physical effects or is this just some theory you came up with while under the influence of holding your breath?

BTW: I usualy do agree with you on most other topics, so this came as a surprise to me too [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img].
