I think Sorbet is more of a creamy dish with a texture like yogurt rather than Sherbet's "frozen soda" texture

Fuck... the tooth fairy isn't real?!? I know Elvis isn't. Not sure about Jesus. I believe in aliens, though; illegal ones.

At 14 years old you have no real identity. You are what the other kids say you are.

Newc, here's an example maybe you'll understand: You'vementioned that your mom's a smoker. Let's say she gets lung cancer and dies. Now how would you feel if someone pipes in with "I have no sympathy, she deserved to die because she knew the danger". Now that would probably be a lot truer than your assertion that a 14-year-old knows and is fully cognizant that this inhalant can kill, when his own school is covering up the issue. Despite the fact that your mom would have smoked herself to death, it would be rather shitty of us to jump in with such a statement......................................... ..............Metallicarocks, you came on here and cried about your problems and got much sympathy and support from the JCF when you were in trouble and having problems. Too bad you have no sympathy when it's someone else's problem. You should think about that, man. Someone could have said, "Oh, you must have done something to deserve it" but no one did. If you ask for compassion you should be willing to give it too.

• Re: Dust Off - Another tragic tale of a dead moron

Ok, show me concrete proof that a 60 year old woman (my Mother) has never ever been exposed to atomic/nuclear radiation, asbestos, lead-based paint, lead plumbing pipes that supply drinking water, and any other cancer-causing agent, and I'll concede that smoking causes cancer 100% of the time.
News flash - my Mother had cancer surgery twice already - colon cancer in 2003 and lung cancer in 2004. The surgeon in both cases said that neither one was caused from smoking, and she's been smoking for about 30 years.

And yes, thank God, she's now cancer free, and she still smokes. God allows her this. He asked her one day "Why do you smoke?" and she replied "Because it calms me".
God's reply was "I'm a calmer. Why do you smoke?"
She replied "Because it soothes my nerves"
He said "I'm a soother"
Again he asked her "Why do you smoke" and she said she thought about it for a minute and answered "Because I enjoy it"
God's reply was "You have answered me truthfully. Had you not, I would have condemned you of it, and you would have had to quit"

Believe it or don't, but that's the fact.

And if smoking causes cancer, head on down to St Jude's and ask the kids how many packs a day they smoke. You'll find out a lot of them come from smoke-free homes.

Google up Tatum Salt Dome in Mississippi and you'll see where our beloved Guvmint detonated a nuclear device underground in the 60s. My parents were not married at the time, but lived near each other, and both near that area. My Dad said when the bomb went off, you could see the fence posts bobbing up and down as the shockwave made the ground ripple like water.
Milk cows and crops in the area were ruined, and 30 years later there was a marked increase in heart disease and cancer among the then-residents of that community, including all of my Dad's brothers and sisters - out of his 9 siblings, most of the women got heart disease and most of the men got cancer. Some of the women got cancer and some of the men got heart disease, and his Mother had both.
Prior to that, there was no real record of such illness in his family.

He had a quadruple bypass in 2003 and was diagnosed with not only heart disease, but having smaller than normal veins across his heart - the doctor said he would expect to see those small veins on an old woman, but not a man, and that it wasn't a birth defect, they were just under-developed. They also wanted to know if he had been exposed to radiation, as that CAN cause such a thing.

Now, in the highly unlikely event my Mother dies from cancer, smoking will be the least of the suspects.
If she were dumb enough to huff freon or paint or some crap like that, then you bet I'd be there to say she was stupid for doing it, because she is the one who was always on top of that sort of thing when I was a kid. She drilled me and my brother about who we hung out with, and believe me, she wasn't lying when she told us that if she ever caught us using drugs she'd strap us to the bed and make us quit cold turkey.

[/ QUOTE ]

Shut the mouth and open the eyes to what I posted: I DO feel for the parents/family. Not feeling sorry for the kid is not a slam against the parents - they did their job. The kid knew better and did it anyway.

And for your information, I am 36 years old, so I'm all grown up. Marriage and children has exactly squat to do with it.

I do not follow the "cool" trends anymore like an ignorant sheep yelling "fight the power" and "yeah man, sex drugs and rock and roll huh huh", and I certainly do NOT see my attitude about suicidal idiots changing. I'm not the type to let a kid do whatever he/she wants - I don't believe that a child "needs their own space" so they can go out and make the same mistakes everybody else's kids make. The whole POINT is to LEARN FROM the mistakes everyone else made, not to duplicate those mistakes, and not to try the same things while hoping to avoid the "one little thing" that made it turn out wrong.

Children have to be LED - they have to be guided along the straight and narrow and taught how and WHY to avoid straying from the path, not "just go out and do whatever".

When they're mentally mature enough to make their own decisions, MY children will make their own decisions, and they'll be the RIGHT decisions.

Strange, I've said this many a time as well. Those that don't believe it go one with life like that person will change, and they get raped. Not me. Somebody fucks with me and it's all over for a long time. Do you see me hurt because I believed somebody had changed? No. This quote has become my moral for life. Bill, you scare the piss outta me when you post. Our philosophies are so similair!
