Scott , I know I just had the "opputtunity" to see how fast it could go...so I said fuggit..
I had a straight clear shot for a bout a mile or so..but my Cobra with that big open "fish mouth" isn't desingened for that kind of top end..it will start to raise off the ground and get squirelly..that is known to happen.
I don't want that to happen...but I just wanted to see what a "safe" limit that bastard can do safely...I'd say 150+ ...anything more than that I wouldn't want to chance it..

There's one upside I suppose. Since I sold my Mustang, my wife has said in a couple of years I can get another car, and she thinks Cobras are awesome.

You're gonna die in that car Bill. It may be able o pull a G on the skidpad, but it ain't meant to do 150mph, even on a straitaway it's debatable as the wind can lift it easy.
Car is too light at 2100 pouns, wheelbase is TOO short and those tires aren't up to it (you really need to get some Firestone Z50s at least).
That car will surprise you at how fast traction/control will be over with and out of control at those speeds bro.

My Ducati gets to 150 pretty quickly, too. There just ain't enough road around here for that.
I need to take a look at Al's advise. I got pulled over the other night coming home from Dialysis, and the cop gave me a break. Instead of writing me for the 75 in a 55 I was doing, he wrote me for having an Arizona license. I'm gonna fight it!Comment

Its cool to see some other people here into cars! I have been since I started driving. I currently own a 92 Trans Am Convertible, 305 TPI 5 speed. Slow but it works. But my real baby is my 88 Trans Am GTA. Just finished up building the motor, its a 355 with a CC XE268H-14 cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Holley Stealth Ram intake, CSI elect. pump, full MSD ignition (dist, 6al, coil, wires), March midmount billet kit for polished alternator and ps pump, cast valve vovers, SLP 1-3/4" shorties (was gonna use my Hooker S/C longtubes, but emissions are a concern at this point)... blah blah blah. Should be good for mid-low 12's or so once I tune it. Just a fun street with a nice streetable powerband. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...
