I'm not sure..the cat did something really stupid one day and James yelled "What the hell are you doing you hickernut!"..and it stuck. I like it. Here's my take on the word
Hickernut: just a tad dumber than a wingnut.

Yes it came from a movie, but it works for me....I use it a bazillion hundred million times a day...and thats on a good day....if its a bad day, it can top a gagillion bazillion...and thats alot
