Actualy this proves nothing either way. Everybody is different. For example; if homosexuality is a product of upbringing, it doesn't mean that everyone in the same situation will turn out the same. Say twins are raised around drunken/drug addicted derelict parents. One may turn to a life of crime/drunkeness whatever, but they may not both do it. Not every child raised in this situation will follow the footsteps, but it sure doesn't help. People don't always turn out the way their environment dictates, but sometimes they do.

Also note: before anybody gets offended by my posts and try to trivialize my opinion, I am not against homosexuals. I have nothing against them and have known plenty. They're just like anyone else, some are productive members of society and some are nothing more than a waste of perfectly good oxygen [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]. Again, just like any other member of the human race.

Well I don't believe they are born gay, but I believe it's a "confusion" that happens when they are young... not necessarily their "upbringing". I think at some point (who know's when) that they confuse love and sexuallity. I mean maybe a boy might look up to a male figure in his life and feel love for him... like an uncle or friend... then they confuse that kind of love for another kind... just my $.02

apparently feeling an attraction to, and love for, someone of the same sex is as much of an abomination as forcing yourself upon a man, woman or child & making them do things of a sexual nature against their will.

Actually, from what I have read, and seen in documentaries, pedophiles are indeed very much like gays. Evidence does point strongly toward them being born with an unusual compulsive attraction to children. Yes, many pedophiles end up the way they are due to abuse, etc, but supposedly, the compulsion is already there. Don't get me wrong here, I think kiddie touchers are disgusting. I also think that although consenting adults have the right to be gay, I also feel strongly that homosexuality is not "normal" at all. Sex has one purpose, propogation. Since two men can not propogate, then yes, homosexuality is abnormal behaviour. However just because it is abnormal doesn't mean it is out of choice. the plain and simple difference between beeing gay and a pedo or rapist is, that noone is forced to anything in a gay relationship.
if there's two guys/girls who like to enjoy themselfes that way, it's fine with me.

Homosexuality is referred to as 'Greek love' for a reason.

In ancient greece, about 75 to 80% of the population was homosexual and also homophile. They did not think of it as a disgrace.

Is it a choice? Well yes it is but not so much as in is it a choice of coke or pepsi. Homosexuals are born with a sex drive that is different than heterosexuals. Just like Heterosexuals they have the choice to act upon their sex drive. Trust me most gay men are already mocked as kids etc and they are not looking to choose something that would make them an outcast and object of ridicule even more.

Well now I have a good angle on this, and most of you guys know about me and what makes me different. You probably know I have a son who is 14. Well, let me tell you, there's not a damn thing wrong with him even though his dad is different than most! He's already proof that this bullshit saying that gays, lesbians or trans people can't raise a family properly is a bunch of crap. It's right-wing religious propaganda and its foundation in reality is as flimsy as its trite little stock images on its website.

Fathers make men.… Girls can continue to grow in their identification with their mothers. I wonder where they get evidence to support these kinds of statements. For 15 years I have known countless GLBT parents in addition to countless hetero parents and you know what I have seen? The children of GLBT parents are doing just fine, even better in most cases because the honesty and openness that their parents show them gives them a high level of trust and respect for their parents, thus they listen to them better, ask them more questions, and tell them more about their personal lives than most other kids I've met. This leads to one very important quality in a young adult, self-respect and self-worth. I've met lots of kids by being a parent, working at a school and teaching guitar.

Websites like this make me sick to my stomach. When are people going to take their freakin' blinders off?

Being GLB or T is NOT a choice. What to DO about being that way is. You can live your life hiding who you are from the world, or you can LIVE YOUR LIFE.

I chose to live. And believe me, my choice was not to be transsexual, but to SURVIVE. It was either be true to who I am or die. I came very close on a few occassions but then I realized that even though I was different, I was of far more value to my son alive than dead. Thankfully, he has proven to me time and again that I made the right decisions. You could as anyone in my family, or any of my friends or acquaintances about this and they would tell you the same thing. I have no regrets and I am sure that the vast majority of GLBT parents are doing just as well.

The choice is whether or not you want to live YOUR life, or live someone else's concept of what your life should be.

Simple as that.
