I was at Guitar Center today and asked one of the salesmen if they were getting any of the Ivory RR3's. He said they had one a while back but that Jackson usually just sends them the crappy $299 RR1's. I said the JS-30's are the cheap ones and he told me no, the RR1 is the bottom of the line. I bought my strings and micro cube and left.

By far the biggest mistake was getting such BS tossed at you as fact but still spending money at that store. By still buying products despite crummy service you only serve top perpetuate that crummy service and run decent shops out of business.... And it´s this way in all industries...

Let´s put it this way: would you buy gas from a "mechanic" that tells you a Ford Pinto is a better car that a Mustang? Probably not... so why do ayou buy axe accessories form a "guitar salesman" that obviously doesn´t know his ass from a hole in the ground?

That´s my rant for today

I was already checking out when I asked. It was all rung up and I was signing the slip. Not only that, there aren't many "Little Guys" around anymore and the ones that are charge $150 for the Micro Cube. The service was great. No hard sell. He just wasn't informed on Jackson guitars. For all I know he could have schooled me on Ibanez guitars.
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

I didnt trick em....I dont think anyway.

3 weeks ago while the same girl told me to bring em in and echange them if they were damaged.

I brought it in a week later and she was not there. Some salesguy said I needed a GC receipt to echange them. Damn.

Yesterday, I saw her, asked again, and she just shook her head NO, you dont need a receipt.

Me, went out to the truck, where I had left the cable two weeks earlier after the first attempt, and broght it in to her. See the rst above!

That's the kick-ass thing about Monster Cables - they are guaranteed for LIFE and you can walk into any store that sells them, hand them your old, bad cable, and they will give you a new replacement NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I've got four of them and as long as Monster Cables are still in business, I will probably never have to buy a new one again. Definitely worth the $50 investment per guitar cable.

They make ALL kinds of cables, too. I have a Monster speaker cable and a special video cable by them as well. Plus, their quality gets better all the time, which is really cool.

Isn't this how companies are SUPPOSED to be run???

Re: Guitar Center Geniuses

Here and there I have found some GC employees who know their stuff about Jacksons--mostly it's old metal guys from the '80s...basically like us. I was in the Manhattan GC yesterday, and the guy I was talking with was a big Kramer fan and seemed decent on the Jackson stuff, too. Not much of interest in the store, however, other than a beautiful used CS left-handed archtop Soloist. But since it was left-handed, not of much use to me.

Annah...we're a few of the handful here who actually know the ins and outs of GC.

Tim...I actually agree with you on the Sam Ash thing too....I know most of the sales crew are more knowledgeable about their product...but both of these companies preach not favoring one brand over the other. The result (sometimes like in this case) is NO product knowledge. And you are basically told what to sell (push) and what not to.
They figure the higher-end stuff (Gibson/Fender/Etc...) will sell themselves, so don't concentrate on pushing those.

[/ QUOTE ]GC does a lot of blowout specials where the prices are too good to pass up. Also, the "little guy" stores are not always knowledgeable either and their prices usually don't come off retail much. You just need to know what you want and go in and tell them, which is really wise no matter what store you shop at. Otherwise you tend to get sold what they want to sell rather than what you need to buy.
