I made it known that I have alot of metal and metal Knowledge..

I also made it known my favorite matel band is NEVWERMORE and that Jeff Loomis was un THE new unsong Shredding hero years ago....I knew it just a matter of time...but now that his talent is out and outt of the bag...they are going to explose...I sure hopr they do...they derserve it..

Five years ago Warrel went on record to say that one of the goal of Nevermore was bringing back the guitar solo ...and yep that;s what he's doin'..

funny how all the Nevermore "support" bands got mentioned first in this "new wave of metal shit" ..Shadows Fall , Lamb Of God , Arch Enemy inflames COB all got first exposure but were all support bands ...and no matter how good some of these players ...none of them couldn't even comed clsed to Loomis...it wasn't even a issue..

I rememvered watch COB and Alexi was tearig it up big time ans I'm going FUCK...how Jeff gonna do...and he comes just all silly lookin' , plugs in and withing seconds you just forgot all about ahhhh what's his name ya just heard...that's how it was....

the new kreator is ok...starts off great, gets weak towards the end.

its cool, not meaning to rag on the band, just not my flavor. My tastes have changed DRAMATICALLY in the last 10 years. I grew up on anthrax, testament, overkill, misfits, etc....good ole punk thrash. Now, its pretty much mellow shyt like audioslave and 311 but I still listen to thrash/punk all the time. The only death metal I cared for was Sepultura (If they were indeed death metal). Thats about as far as it goes. But hell, If you dig it, who cares what I say about..........Crank It and Rock On

And If you wanna recommend a nevermore song for me to check out, go for it. I'll give it a go and tell ya what I think

A toss up between Pain of Salvation's "Be" and Nevermore's "The Godless Endeavor". Also worthy of special mention is the debut album from Demonoid. An incredible debut from a bunch of incredibly talented guys (Therion and Soilwork). Its not really my thing but its still some of the best death/thrash I have heard in awhile.

well....being a diehard nevermore fan, i'd say just randomly pick out a song to listen to, you can't go wrong [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

seriously, if you're after more mellow shit i'd try the dreaming neon black album first. no more will is pretty cool, the title track (ballad) is outstanding.
other than that, well....check out i, voyager (enemies of reality), sell my heart for stones (TGE), insignificant (DHIADW), garden of gray (nevermore, their first one), in memory (in memory EP)
those are the less heavier songs i'd recommend...
if you want to be blown away by sheer heaviness and technique, listen to this godless endeavor, engines of hate (DHIADW), 42147 (politics of ecstacy), ambivalent (EoR)

but then again...if you say you want only one song....i'd say check out the learning (politics of ecstacy). it's a monster, but really diverse...mellow parts, shredfest, kickass heavy stuff...everything

but in all seriousness, you can't go wrong with nevermore. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I actually discovered Nevermore from using file sharing programs, and have since bought all of their CDs (including DHIADW and EoR twice since my kids scratched the hell out of the cds).. take that RIAA
