Re: Cindy Sheehan

    [ QUOTE ]
She's earned the right to say whatever the fuck she wants.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And so do we.I think she is dishonoring her dead son by using his death as propaganda to try and blackmail the President into talking to her,at least according to her stance of not leaving the area unless he does(which he's already done).

Typical media whoring, and surprise surprise she has Michael Moore supporting her and forcing the issue. If he were to give in to her demands then everyone and their dog would be trying using the same strategy to push their own political agenda.

She's wasting her time, her choice mind you,but those energies could be used in a better way IMO.

OK....from a military standpoint.....being active duty....I don't agree with her statements, but, at the same time acknowledge that she has the right and priveledge to say what she wants to.

The other side of the coin, to everybody bashing her (family included), how would you honestly feel if you lost a son or daughter to this or any other conflict?? The reasoning behind it is irrelevent to her....the only reality for her is her child is dead...gone, not coming home.

Have some compassion people....the woman has lost her son and is dealing with it the only way she knows how....is it right...I don't think so, but that's my opinion....and I pray I never have to lose a child in this manner.

      Just my $0.02 worth.....

        Re: Cindy Sheehan

Who the fuck cares if she's right or wrong or whether her son would tell her to STFU? Her son is dead, she felt that he died for a bad decision, and she's exercising her 1st ammendment right. I bet her son would say that he died for her right to do exactly what she's doing.

You guys crack me up. If your son was a cop and died in what you felt was a botched drug raid (regardless of the facts), you would be VOCAL about it.

I don't see anyone jumping up and down over Pat Tillman's parents.

It's only because Cindy Sheehan has specific political views that you want to rake her over the coals for exercising her 1st ammendment right that she has more than earned.

Nah man, for me, its not about her flexing her first admendment right. As I stated, maybe not is these exact words, but I think she's going about wrong. Sure anytime you stick your neck out or go out on a limb, your opening yourself up to attack. Going against the grain is never easier. As with all military famalies (I too have a long famliy miliatry history) who have suffered loss. As i have stated before and will again, my deepest sympathies, regrets and condolences. With that said, I'm not robbing her first admentment right, and I still hold my view.

You disagree with her. That's cool. But you're pissed that she gets a soap box and tons of media coverage over her dissenting views. That's cool too.

But I don't agree with morphing your dissatisfaction with the amount of coverage she's getting on her views into a jab over her dishonoring her dead son. I personally think that even if her son disagreed with her, he would be proud of her.

I disagree, she has the right as an American, to say what she wants, as does everyone else who is a citizen. I see what your'e trying to say kind of, but I don't think she's any more important than any other citizen. She did not serve, nor did she support her son serving. What happened next was tragic, but she doesn't have anymore rights than anyone else. I do agree that those who do serve deserve our respect, gratitude and appreciation as they are true heroes (including her son).

But the media shouldn't edit out extreme comments like her refering to the Insurgents in Iraq as "FREEDOM FIGHTERS". The media knows if they made that more public, people would dismiss her. They are using only portions of her stance and beliefs to suit their own agenda. Portray a person as a whole or not at all so the people can make thier own judgements. Don't leave out major facts.

[/ QUOTE ] I think what Tim is getting at is, every American has the right to free speech.

Your free speech is granted to you by the blood and sweat and sacrifice of the men and women who fought and fight to protect it.

They EARNED it. You and others get to run your pie holes for free on their backs. I hope you all appreciate it.

There is a time and place for nearly everything.
First, like each and everyone of us, we all know America media. If Cindy and her family, hasn't yet been contacted by morning and evening television shows to voice her concerns, I'll be very surprised. Meaning, if it was me, I would wait to voice me concerns AFTER my sons burial ceremony. Then, I'd gladly do Larry King, Good Morning America the whole nine yards to get my view out and make it public. To me, as already stated, voicing her opinions now, just casts a negative shadow a negative spin over her son's service to the country. Can you just zip it for now and wait your turn, is how I look at it. What she's doing is very distasteful at this moment. Her turn will come thats for sure, this is America, she will make sure of it. The media will glady accomodate her. Heck, she might even end up on Oprah, Dr. Phill or Montel.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...
