Hey Tommy have you ever taken Bupernex the scientific name is buper morphine or something like that. Its great for kicking tar. I would not recommend for someone who isnt opiate dependant. Ativan is good for short term use for anxiety but benzodiazapimes should not really be taken long term.

Really none are better than the other dude, it's totally different from person to person. What Paxil does for one will do opposite or nuetral to the other. The worst part about finding the right one is that it takes a long time of fucking around until you find the right one.

I'm stuck with Paxil, the CR form usually. Yeah, it messes with the PP (takes forever to jerk it!), but it's better than freaking out from panick attacks or being borderline suicidal. I don't have time for that kind of bullshit. I also don't have time to jerk it anymore, so it's a win-win situation. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Zoloft made me so wired I would only sleep for and hour or to a night-Xanax gives me anxiety which I quicly kill with alcohol, the shit makes me want to burn town down

I am opposite though-ANything that wires most people relaxes or puts me to sleep-pain meds, alcohol ect get me rolling-

You've got to try some different stuff & see what works for you.

Xanax is fantastic.....remember to use in moderation.

Zoloft made me kind of wacky.

Lexapro worked well but started to give me lots of weird side effects....aches & pains & stuff.

At the end of the day.....beer & Jagermeister does me right.

I crashed real hard in March.... Almost at the pistol..... Went to counceling got help. They put me on Paxel 10mg and I love life now!!!! So my PP is broken and I eat The Blue Diomonds.... Hard as a rock!!!!!

Dunno if I feel any better hearing that the answer is most likely a drug.

Crazy thing is, I am finding that going to the gym or getting aggression out physically is just about as rewarding mentally as drinking 3/4 a bottle of Vodka.

One thing for sure, drinking until you can't stand up regularly is not the answer [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I know, master of the obvious, but I just don't want to be on prescription meds. It's a very easy answer to choose. And I am sure for a lot of people it makes sense. If I felt like eating lead, I definitely think meds are the right answer.

I just had a few bouts with reality - nothing serious, and a feeling of complete loss and hopelessnes was eating me every day. Some days are good, most are bad, probably just time to find a job I enjoy, suck it up and be a big boy.

Thankfully those meds exist for the folks that need them for whatever reason. One thing I know people shouldn't do is be in denial that they need help.

Think I just got 'the blues' - one of the great motivating factors built in humans to make them change the things in there lives that deep down they know aren't right.

Thanks for the input guys. It's nice to know 'normal' (musicians, metalheads, anarchists, satanists, lawyers [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] , mechanics) people's experiences with this stuff in case it's an option I need to discuss with a doc.

Everyone is different and have different needs. And although the SSRI's are all very similar, some people respond to certain ones better than others. A lot depends on what your issues truly are. I have posttraumatic stress disorder and had (and still occasionally have) panic attacks or massive spaz attacks as I call them. I have been on 20 mg of Lexapro for over 2 years. I was on zyprexa to bump the lexapro. I was on ambien to sleep. It's worked well for me, but I know others with similar problems that doesn't work for. I really don't have side effects from the lexapro, others do. It's truly something that you need to discuss with your doctor. There are other non-med treatments that can be used or used in combination with the meds. But once on the meds, you have to becareful and not just stop taking them. They can all become addicting. And not like a regular addiction. Just be careful with any of it.

Like what has been said above, everyone is different... I do know that depression is a son-o-bitch if not treated. I'm just thankfull that someone got to me before I got home. Take care of yourselves, get yourself some help if needed.

What everyone has said about all of us being differant is 100% true and I can not agree with that more. Some time realizing things arent right and talking to someone is what is needed. Other times it is a life change, and other times the stuff that is going on is out of your control. Look at what is happening and make the choice that is right for you. Write down all the questions you have and go point by point with your doc. Make sure that you are not going to do something that you are questioning as treatment the whole time you are doing. There is no need to complicate anything in your life.

I got experience with those pills (a lot of brands and kinds for few diagnostics) for more than 5 years but, I don't want to know about them... they made you suck. now, just ambien, no hagover the day after a good sleep... anyway in few weeks it will be a total fucked-up again. get away from them, if not prescribed, my best advise [img]/images/graemlins/refuse.gif[/img]

I was just weened off of Zoloft for being on them for a year and a half..I couldn't tell if they helped or not to be honest when I was taking them...do they make you "buzzed"..absolutely NOT....in hindsight they did NOTHING for me.

But after being off Zoloft for two weeks , being on them for year and a half..50 mg a day...My head is MUCH clearer and my mood is better..sigh..

now when I feel .."irate"..or "rage" (mainly due to PAIN) ..which I am dealing with..with professional help paid for by the state of Ohio...because it was due to my job injuries..BWC to be exact..

I'm off ALL anti-depressants now..after being on that merry go round for over five years straight...and "I" feel MUCH better now...

when I was on them...my head was always in a cloud , just fuzzy..I was never motivated to do anything and ALWAYS fatigued and always moody... [img]/images/graemlins/eyes.gif[/img]

Now I can see that changing..instantly!!!!

I take a 1 mg xanax now perscribed by my doctor with the advice of several psychologists..well you have to jump thru these hoops to get help sometimes , and unfortunately it can take five (or more) years to get the right help..

now I take xanax now when needed and I calm the hell down..no more feelings of "road rage"..not like before...it got out of control.

I swear before, if someone gave me the bird or just looked at me wrong (from and old lady to king kong it didn't matter) ..the chase was on...or a fight...or verbal abuse...which ever came first...I didn't care..and I knew that it was a matter of time before I got into serious trouble or hurt , or hurt someone ..and that is just NOT like me...I been dealing with that BS for five years now and finally...I'm getting a grip on it..thanks to the proper medication and off the wrong medication.

but that's me...

everyone has different problems and requires different treatment....but it's a trail and error basis sometimes getting that treatment..and that could take a while.
