I was listening to my brothers MP3 player and I came across Exodus doing a cover of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and it made me think what are the best and worst covers of all time?

I used to get a real laugh out of Celtic Frost doing Mexican Radio. I could have done without Megadeth redoing Anarchy in the UK.

Thread might get moved, but my vote is Children Of Bodom's cover of Oops I Did It Again by Brittney Spears. It's a little funny, but with all the covers they did, this one really lacked imagination and creativity. But a nice plus for that solo at the end, kinda cool

GNR doing Knockin' on Heaven's Door rocks. Their version of Live and Let Die stomps Paul McCartney's original so much that he should just pass all the royalties for it to GNR and stop performing it himself.

Fear Factory's version of Cars is kinda lame and so is just about all the new crap on the first disk in Garage, Inc. (even the Misfits tune is missing something in the mix!)

Motley Crue's 'Anachy in the UK' is dreadful and I hate 'Ballroom Blitz', so any version of that sucks (esp White Lion's!)

I agree with neilli on VH's You Really Got Me.
Gamma Ray's cover of Exciter by Judas Priest was pretty fukkin cool.


Yngwie Malmsteen doing Dream On was horrendous...
I'm not a fan of Metallica's take on Whiskey in the Jar.
Judas Priest is close to my fave band but I'm afraid I didn't like their cover of Johnny B. Goode.

Here's my number one thumbs-down that I can think of at the moment:
