They just evacuated about an hour ago. They weren't going to leave but then they had an attack of common sense. I hope they have enough time. My sister in law is driving alone following her husband and young son. She and my wife are both freaking bad. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

By the way, if you haven't been to the bayou it is something else. They recently killed a 12 foot alligator in their front yard. I/m thinking in a couple days the bayou will have reclaimed there little plot of land.

This storm is up to 175 miles per hour winds now and is one of the 5 strongest storms on record since they began keeping records. My brother lives in south florida and caught the first run of this little bugger of a storm, its about 25x what it was then. If your even close to the area of effect of this storm, do yourself a favor and get out. This storm is going to be very bad. Probably the worst place in the country for a storm of this magnitude to hit too, since most of that area of the gulf coast is below sea level, the storm surge is just going to decimate the homes and anything in its path on the coast.

I ran last night. I am staying with my ex-wife, and that should give you some indication of how scared of this one I actually am.

My first Fiance was named Katrina. I met her in New Orleans. She was from Florida, and we lived in Miami together. All the factors are in place. We are not going to dodge the bullet this time. I fully expect to return to matchsticks instead of a home. I am right on the northern shore of the Lake. I didn't even have time for plywood. I just packed everything that was precious and headed for Lake Charles.

New Orleans is about to experience the finger of god.

I can only hope it swerves.
