Turn these bastards in. It may not do anything but Make your voice known. there is NO reason to gough these people. Gas companies could give gas away free for months and still have HUGE profits.

I believe theres available a telephone number that can be called to notify the proper authorties about overpriced gas.
Once called, they(authorities) make the call to the station and tell them they have 2 hours to drop the price down to where it should or you lose your liscense.
Many calls have been made today. I know of 3 station in my area got the call, and immeditaely dropped the price down.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

We MIGHT have good news coming our way at 1:00PM EST (probably news about releasing from the SPR (Strategic Petroleum Reserve). The US Energy Secretary is going to make this 'major announcement' then. Oh, and by-the-way, did you notice that light sweet crude oil futures are dropping like a rock??? Now down over $2.00, and unleaded gas futures are down .23

Yeah, but how much of yours is tax? From what I understand, it should be close to what we pay, but the European governments have put very heavy taxes on it driving it to the price it is. Same in Canada. I could be wrong, though. Also, how far does the average person commute in Sweden and what is an average per month mileage estimate? Just curious.

Average milage per year is about 20 000 km ~ 32000 miles.

About 65-70% of the price of gas is taxes. If 1 litre of gas costs 11.05 SEK, 7.15 SEK is taxes.

An average swede makes about 2500 trips each year (by car). 1200 of those is to work, school or for business. 600 is for buying food, drive the kids to school, hospital-trips etc. The rest is for leisure and hobbies.

An average swede has ~15km (24 miles) to work/school if he live in one of the larger cities. In the countryside, the same number is ~20km (36 miles).

Thanks for the info. You guys drive a lot more than I thought. The tax on our gas varies by state here. In my state of Oregon, we pay 24 cents tax on every gallon and every state also has an 18 cents per gallon federal tax.
