• How old are you?

Well I was wondering what some of you guys do for a living and how old you are. This way I'll have a realistic goal for when I'll be able to get as many guitars
I'm 19, student, jobless.

I'm 19, i'm on a gap year from education untill i go to university to study how to build guitars and i currently have two part time jobs, one job is cleaning dishes the other is fitting fridges in supermarkets around the country. The fridge fitting job pays alot for a 19 year old.

22, working at an IT company that provides on site computer support for small businesses that cannot afford a full time IT staff. I'm the desk jockey of the work place and I spent most of my time either working on shop machines, answering e-mail, or providing phone support for clients. Chances are if I'm posting on the forum here during the day, I'm currently installing Windows XP on a computer.

Re: How old are you?

27 and I work in the warehouse for the giftshop of a performing arts center (if you live in Washington DC you can probably guess which one). It pays for shit, but I love the job. Unfortunately I won't be here much longer. My family is all moving down to Florida and partly due to stuff that I've seen with Katrina, I'd prefer to be at least in the same state. So come June or so I'll be looking for a new job. I am not to worried though, I have 5 years experience here and I am damn good at my job and well liked by everyone in my department. As long as I can find a suitable position I have moderately optimistic hopes of getting a decent job fairly quickly. And for the record I only have 4 guitars, all less than 700 dollar imports and one warmoth (at the time I bought them anyways, the one limited edition BC Rich is worth more now I think). And I will be ordering a custom shop any day now, once I get the quote finalized (its on its second pass through jackson now).

It took me more or less 4 years of scraping together cash to feel comfortable enough to order it. The last thing you want to do is put yourself in debt. I think it will be worth it. Its safe to say no one will have a guitar like this one I am ordering. If you want a nice guitar and you don't make alot of money, start saving by cutting out extraneous stuff you spend money on. I did that and ended up saving myself about 150 a month. That adds up fast. Set aside that money and keep track of how much you have earned towards a guitar.

Re: How old are you?

I'm 21 years old, I'm a full time college student and I work 35 hours a week or so at Guitar Center, and I do band stuff too. I consistently sell about the same amount of stuff every month at GC so if you calculate it out I make about $10-$12 an hour, but I work hard.
