Any German forumites?

I am heading over to Germany in a couple weeks for Oktoberfest. I was wondering if there were any German forumites that could suggest some other cool places to visit. Thanks.

We are flying in / out of Hamburg, then we are going to loop around Germany via train. Some of the places we were thinking of stopping are Lubeck, Rothenburg, Munich, Fussen, and Dresden.

As much as i don´t wanna say it, Avoid Oktoberfest.. other than hundreds of people getting drunk it has nothing to do with what it´s supposed to be... at least not in Munich [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

We're probably heading to the Oktoberfeste ourselves, for two days or so, go there get shitfaced drunk, regurgitate, repeat last two steps 10x, get back in car and drive. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

next to munich I'd suggest to maybe give the "kloster andechs" a visit. that's a monastery not that far away from munich, and the monks there brew their own beer and from what I've heard it's supposed to be pretty nice and one of the sights of munich. [img]/images/graemlins/toast.gif[/img]

the bavaria film studios aren't really far away, too, if you got enough of beer. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]


but from hamburg to munich your crossing almoust whole germany!
hamburg itself is pretty nice!
I passed it a couple of times myself...

other than that I'm a cologne fan!!
and you should at least drink a couple of kölsch after all this weizen... [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]


so what are your interests besides of beer?
wanna do some party? get some culture or enjoy nature?

Aside from beer we want to see some of the architechure / culture. We also will be hitting Belgium, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. Any good music stores in Munich?

actually i was planning to go to the oktoberfest, too, but i can get there only on a weekend, and we've got to play a show on this very weekend....of course.
