Damn,hope the band is ok........

[/ QUOTE ]

The guys in Lillian Axe are fine. Some have not been able to survey the damage to their homes but they're fine. Steve posted to the Yahoo group via a friend and he did an interview on Dallas radio a couple of days ago.

I always assumed Zebra were from LI, NY

They had quite the following in the Tri-State area in their heyday!

Zebra is a Louisiana band. An old friend's uncle actually taught Randy Jackson to play guitar...or at least so he says!

He still has a San Dimas 3-single coil Charvel that he plays off and on.

Let's not forget:

Also, NOLA's adopted sons...Jimmy Page, Lenny Kravitz, Trent Reznor and Bob Dylan.

The white one? Does Steve still use or still own any other Charvel / Jackson guitars? I remember being surprised seeing a swirl finish dinky with a Jackson maple neck w/ ebony fins listed on eBay a couple of years ago. I think he was personally running the auction.

Remember watching him play his EVH Charvel in Metairie at dive bars a long time ago. He's my favorite local N.O. guitarist. Great execution for both rhythm and lead. Could have fit in rather nicely in L.A. bands that rose to the top. Robbin Crosby spoke highly of him when we met in San Diego many years ago. Robbin had shared with me how he admired Steve's playing and stage presence as we got on the subject of him producing Lillian Axe.

Other N.O. bands:

The Sheiks - bought a blue 1 hum Charvel Strat from their guitarist Marty. The singer would wear a turban.

Dino Kruse Band
The Models
Stephanie & The White Socks
The Cold
The Topcats

I sold Dino Kruse a '65 Tele mutt back in 1991. I think Dino is jamming with Hendrix and Stevie Ray now. He was a real character.

Ol' Dino has to be in his mid to late 50's by now. I bought some stuff from him when I was too young to know any better. The guy actually would swap parts he wanted off guitars that he would agree to sell on commission (and then act innocent after being questioned). Had to keep hounding him to recover parts of mine he stole. Did this to a few people I knew also. I showed him a vintage strat one time - and without asking, this self absorbed dickhead proceeds to cut the strings and pull the neck off to check the mfg. date.

I was too shocked that someone was this rude and insensitive to other's stuff. If he tried that now, he would get the quite the opposite response. He's like the local Ed Roman on a much smaller scale. A real asshole. You may want to avoid him in the future.
