Yea, keep God on the money. Kinda ironic when people are sorting coke through rolled up bills and tucking $1.00's into a stripper's g-string.

[ QUOTE ]
We will have to take the "G" word off all coins and bills. I think the phrase, " In God We Trust" has a more calmming effect than,"In The Federal Reserve We Trust". Remember, all this stuff is based on faith. "Under God" or "in God We.."

[/ QUOTE ]

This was added back in the 1950s. Until then, there was no reference to God anywhere on our currency, in our courts, etc. This all happened during the McCarthy ra of anti-communism. You know, kinda like the Bush era of anti-terrorism.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually "In God We Trust" on currency dates back to the Civil War. Note that just because the phrase "In God We Trust" wasn't used on currency before 1864 that does not mean that there was no reference to God on currency in the US before that date.

The Pledge of Allegiance has a more interesting history (Cliff's Notes version here). By most accounts the author was a devout student of Karl Marx who was eagerly awaiting the day the proletariat would arise to throw off the chains of the bourgeoisie and unite the world as the worker's paradise Marx promised. More detailed accounts note the Pledge was a component of his vision of a world filled with brainless little automata who would bow reflexively to the power of the state, his assumption being that if one repeated it often enough it would sink in. He objected to the addition of the reference to USA to the plege because he intended it to be universal; his daughter objected to the addition of the reference to God (in the 50s as noted above).

And I wouldn't get too high or low about the decision on the Pledge by the US District Court in San Francisco, there's a reason the case was filed there and it has to do with the very decided leftist slant of that court. Appeals will follow and likely overturn this decision.

Re: Pledge of Allegiance - this pisses me off...

I'm philosiphically a republican as well, but for the following reasons: personal responsibility, small government, etc. i can't stand to see my tax dollars get sunk in some pork project. or paying for a crack dealer's rent. or subsidizing both the tobacco farmers AND the u.s. dept of health (to fund anti-smoking commercials) AND the attorney general's office (to sue tobacco companies). hell, i'd rather have my money be burned to cook meals down in La and Mi.

so it chaps my ass when republicans act like democrats when it comes to religion. as if govt sponsored religion can make our citizens have better values. Yes, uttering "under God" will have a dramatic effect on the moral fiber of our country. Lol. Take your kids to church! Any church that YOU choose because of the freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution. That's where you'll teach them the values that YOU feel are important.

Don't be fooled, republicans and democrats use *polarizing* topics in order to keep their non-thinking voting bases in line. Why have a nuanced debate over health care or our borders when you can just say, "i'm anti-abortion and they're not! I believe in intelligent design and they believe in evolution!". There, you've just put a good percentage of your base in line for the next election.

Really? You think is just because of one judge and one president? This country gets more uptight and politically correct with each passing day. I've been witnessing this my whole life. Republicans, Democrats, any and all religions/non-religions, rich people, poor people, all races, all colors, all nationalities, etc. Everyone thinks they're entitled to special consideration.

The mantra for the age of entitlement:
If everyone would just do things my way, the country would be a lot better...

Hmmm well I was watching this on the news last night..a rare occassion.

and..as a SATANIST I realy don't give a poop about keeping the original POA intact..I said it everday in school as my kid says it everday now!

The debate of saying "God" is not pinpointing certain religions does NOT hold water, because any white light based faith be it christian , jew , protestant , mormon , baptist , and yada yada ..even Allah..ALL aknowledge that there is a higher deity and life after death when all punishments or rewards are givin' for eternity..period

Now..this doesn't bother me..it is the nation we live in.

I accecpt that..(for my own reasons)..

In my beliefs..(I AM GOD)..so now ALL must bow down to me..

Seriously..this gives dweebs like the ACLU a reason to exist, it it their livelyhood to be dickholes..just like most criminal defense lawyers..

so this is nothing new nor will it go away..

liberal judges want to run the show..it is an abuse of their power..which impose their own agendas and beliefs on the rest of us...it justifies their pathetic existence..

BTW I hope the POA remaons the same..because this will be true justice to those who must oppose all what our country was founded on and stands for..it'll bust their balls..and I'm ALL for that!

I would love go on The O'Reilly show and be on the same page with him as a Satanist hee hee..that would TRULY fuck him up..but , I'm articulate and logical with class and politeness to do it very well....and I'm sure he'd be pretty surpised himself...that a person such as I is on his side on this issue..

BTW..I'd say put this to a poltical vote for the people on the ballot..it will win hands down..humans are creatures of habbit and they don't like dickholes fucking with their traditions and habbits..

Bill Z Bub..
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

This burns my ass as well. I am tired of having to bend over backwards for every asshole with a complaint.

Why do I have to choose between Spanish and English when I call my credit card company? I speak English mother fucker. Damn. If I decided to move to some foreign country, would I expect them to cater to me. Hell no. I would learn the language. After all, I chose to be there.

My old man used to tell me that when he was a kid growing up in Jersey City, his father, who spoke broken English, insisted that the kids learn the language. He was so proud to be here instead of Italy. He tried so hard. Now we have to give seperate tests at the DMV, have signs in different languages in state buildings.

Don't say the two words if you don't want to. Nobody will give a flying fuck about you or your atheism. I sure as hell don't. But that's part of the problem. This asshole doesn't want to go quietly into the night. He is screaming, "Look at ME! Look at ME! They are changing this for everyone because of ME!!!

Eh....fuck off douche bag. Get a friggin' life.
