Re: Pledge of Allegiance - this pisses me off...

[ QUOTE ]
This burns my ass as well. I am tired of having to bend over backwards for every asshole with a complaint.

Why do I have to choose between Spanish and English when I call my credit card company? I speak English mother fucker. Damn. If I decided to move to some foreign country, would I expect them to cater to me. Hell no. I would learn the language. After all, I chose to be there.

My old man used to tell me that when he was a kid growing up in Jersey City, his father, who spoke broken English, insisted that the kids learn the language. He was so proud to be here instead of Italy. He tried so hard. Now we have to give seperate tests at the DMV, have signs in different languages in state buildings.

Don't say the two words if you don't want to. Nobody will give a flying fuck about you or your atheism. I sure as hell don't. But that's part of the problem. This asshole doesn't want to go quietly into the night. He is screaming, "Look at ME! Look at ME! They are changing this for everyone because of ME!!!

Eh....fuck off douche bag. Get a friggin' life.

[/ QUOTE ]
Again, I agree completely.
Unfortunately, thats the current situation in the nation.
I don't like it anymore than the next but not much I can do about it.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

I know no God. Yet, I don't care about this. You may as well be saying" one nation, under the tooth fairy" as far as I'm concerned... I could say it and not care, as it is fiction to me and means nothing.

Doesn't bother me a bit as to what they want to say about their God in the pledge (as long as I'm not "forced" to say or believe). It's the idiots bitching about it that bother me most.

Re: Pledge of Allegiance - this pisses me off...

John is his own God..he controls his destiny , a loving father , he lives his life in a very self preserving way , he takes care of his own problems without the help of others or superstitions , he's a take care of buisness guy , and a man that will help out others in need in a heart beat..and he shows empathy to good people who are victimized.

but in the same light ..he WILL harm those who want to cause him harm without guilt and fear of going to hell.

basically he follows most of the same guidelines to living on this spinning ball of mud as I do.

which is basically...

Treat others the way they treat you.

In a backhanded way, I agree. But I start the process or, at least, change it around to where I can get along. Then I'm covered. But I was never a cop.

Bottom line to the people that want it removed:

You are in a school in the United States of America.
In said country, it is customary to salute the flag which represents all of the lost lives and toils that brought us to where we are today.

If you have a problem with a country´s customs, especially with those having to do with allegiance, you need to reconsider your citizenship and act accordingly.

And aside from that, there are things a thousand times more important, but as long as some atheist "anti-thumper" gets a bee up their ass we have to discuss things like this?

Pathetic, and a really bad sign of where our country is headed

Great Post, E.

very good Zerbs..

Unfornatelatly we must investigate and act on ALL all complaints which are unfounded or not..

I say "unfortunaely" because this wastes all of our time and money and burdens the system with "unfounded" complaints which greatly out weigh the legitimate ones and important issues and matters at hand...This is our system .."fails"...at times

Exactly.. if it weren´t for constant battering of the courts with senseless drivel such as this, maybe they could get actual work done more efficently

Re: Pledge of Allegiance - this pisses me off...

same thing on a much smaller scale that I can TRULY relate to ..

example ..Your mom or dad is having a heart attack..you call 911..but the response time is 20 - 25 minutes (if your lucky) because all units are playing taxi cabs for the non paying tax payers that need a ride to the hospital because they have a bad cold or a small cut..."unfounded" emergencies!

so your parents will ..well..be shit out of luck.

especially in a inner city...this is FACT!

Isn't the translation of "Freiburg" "Free-Burg". This is what makes our country great, a few hiccoughs along the way. It is the ability and the "right" to say what we feel. This country is the best thing to come along since night baseball. There is nothing more important than our right to be heard. Even if the talker is an asswipe. Including me.
