Re: The ultimate band?

Naw, I just mean he did the recording to replace Bob Daisley for Ozzy - knocked out the original bass on the remasters so Daisley wouldn't get paid, filled in for Metallica after the boys (by some accounts) weren't as kind to Newstead as they coulda been.

Trujillo has always been cool. Aside from making steady coin (which he deserves) he did some cool stuff with suicidal. Definitely a hard working guy that hasn't let off the gas. Just could be frowned on the way scabs are by union folk - ya know?

Great choice for a player and prolly a hell of a guy!

How is Trujillo a scab? He was touring with Ozzy for quite a long time. He's an awesome bass player! He's got the talent, so why shouldn't he get more money from people that know what he's capable of?

Sharon Osbourne should bear all the blame as she is the force behind those Ozzy related business decisions. Her humility was short lived after her cancer scare subsided. Not a very nice person to put it mildly.

Jason Newstead is another solid choice for a dream band slot also.

TJ, Birdzeyee,

I agree Sharon is the twat behind the man.

I was using scab in this context -

Scab -
1) A worker who refuses membership in a labor union.
2) An employee who works while others are on strike; a strikebreaker.
3) A person hired to replace a striking worker.

http://www.answers.com/topic/scab

Just a little joke went the wrong way. Like I say - it's a killer job and who wouldn't take it - but doesn't make the reason for the vacancy or the things they are asked to do right!

Now back to the bands.

Vocals: Billy Idol
Guitars: Lynch or DeMartini
Bass: Michael Anthony
Drums: Tommy Lee

Seems like a volatile band.

Here's Mine:

v - David Coverdale
g - Ritchie Blackmore
g - Michael Schenker
b - Steve Harris
d - Terry Bozzio

So lets see........

Ritchie and Dave would get in a fight 10 minutes in. Gone.
Michael would forget to show up. Gone.

And then my Ultimate Band would consist of: Harry and Bozzio, which now that I think about it, would still be pretty damn cool!

In pairs.

Drums:
1. Neil Peart
2. Alex Van Halen

Guitars:
1. Lynch
2. Uli Jon Roth
3. Ritchie Blackmore (aside from EVH, he was one of the better live players I've ever seen, he played the crap of his guitar, just incredible)
4. Theres a reason I didn't list EVH...he's too drunk these days.

Bass:
1. Geddy Lee
2. Billy Sheehan

Keyboard:
1. The guy from Deep Purple? (Live, he's incredible)

Vocals: You want someone that can command the stage, but MUST also be able to sing. These days that quickly rules out, Ozzy and DLR.
1. Rob Halford
2. David Coverdale
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

The ultimate band has already been created... Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones. :P

Metal-wise... Playing a combination of early Testament material and Dark Angel tracks. As well as some quality new tracks.
