Re: The ultimate band?

This would be about the worst band I could come up with.

Vocals: Neil Young
Lead Guitar: Kurt Cobain
Bass: Adam Clayton
Keyboards: Tommy Lee
Drums: Ringo Starr
Backup Vocals: Yoko Ono, Bob Dylan, Linda McCartney

Worst Band:

Vocals Female - Gwen Stefani

I have some old videos of him from the early 80's when he was over 60 years old. Even then he was thousand times better, faster and more complex than all the metal drummers ever will be.

I heard an interview with Buddy Rich and he was asked to comment on who he felt the best rock drummer is. He told them he felt Neil Peart was the best drummer he had ever heard and that Peart was doing things that he could only dream of doing. Of course... one of Pearts biggest influences is Buddy Rich. What a great drummer.

yeah, Neil took it to the next level, so did Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd etc. They all are sick MOFOs.
Peart has influenced so much prog drummers. All those cool tom fills and rolls are taken from him, you can hear a lot that in Mike Mangini and Mike Portnoy.

There is a couple of Buddy Rich audio clip out when he started up his own band. Funny as hell. He was one nasty muthrfkr. He shits all over the new kids in his band, throwing them off the tour bus. Every other word is fukkin morons. I'll look for them. OK, here it is Buddy Rich. This is funny!

1. After the first set
2. In the bus between sets
3. Again in the tour bus
4. On the way to a gig

I thought Buddy Rich was a dick when he was on The Muppets. Hittin' Gonzo on the head like that, with his sticks, was just prickish.
