I don't see why they had to call it Battlestar Galactica. It's so different I think they could have gotten by with just coming up with something similar but original.

But, I guess it helped in getting older fans to watch it.

It hasn't hooked me but some of my friends like it a lot. I'm just too busy I guess.

Well, the premise of the story still revolves around the Galactica. All the main story characters are still pretty much the same, even their attitudes are still somewhat in place just not cheesed out in the late 70's - early 80's TV 'Buck Rogers' sense..they're brought up to 21st century real time mode.

The thing I liked about this last episode is that it portrayed two differing attitudes in the military...kinda touched upon bringing the whole Abu Gharib thing into it almost too where the Cylon prisonors are being treated differently between the two ships and the characters attitudes towards each other within the military as well. The camaraderie, the interaction and how the two ships differed from one another even with humans on board...

I'll have to tape this Friday, I won't be able to watch the 2nd half at work.

Wrong decade. Galactica was the late 70s.

but Buck Rogers wasn't....eh pretty close to 80's cheese when you're in '79. I should know, I watched the damn stuff when it came out and thought it was pretty cheesy then.

I edited it.. neener

You certainly would not see a cylon human clone boinking a crewmember on the planet surface like it was an episode of nip n tuck back in the originals...man TV has changed with the advent of cable..
A LOT.

Why I watched Buck Rogers.

I met Erin last year. Nice woman. I offered to go home with her but she wouldn't have me.

It was '78.

An, IMHO, Buck Rogers had an entirely different - and higher - level of cheese factor going on. ...And, yes, I'm old enough that I to remember the original airings back then.

yeah, I'm not sure what it was trying to accomplish, Love Boat mixed with Lost in space or Star Trek Original.
I was just making reference to the early 80's being cheesy TV in general..especially that show.

I think the new BSG is great!, I try to watch it every week. I can't believe they are on break again though
that was pretty quick, what were there even 10 new episodes?
Love the developing plot lines though. did you notice the look of pure rage on the blond cylon when she and Boltar first saw the cylon captive on the Pegasus?
great acting on this show!
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Yeah, and the look on the "Sharon" Cylon's face when she was bent over, restrained, and was about to be forceably @ss-f**ked by the Pegasus' "interrogation" officer.

Cripes, don't see that on TV very often!
