O'Fallon brewery is a local Missouri brewery. The wife and I tried some of their pumpkin beer tonight. It's not that bad. Only complaint was that it didn't seem to provide much head when poured from the bottle. Couldn't seem to get much of an aroma from the beer. You know, when the bubbles tickle your nose as you drink, it seems to enhance the flavor of the beer. Anyone else have some odd microbrews they really like? Feel free to share.

There's a local brewery that makes a seasonal pumpkin beer- I tried it but wasn't really into it. Another local one has a blueberry ale that, on it's own, is somewhat overpowering. However, if you substitute it for the "tan" in a Black & Tan (ie: bottom half blueberry ale and the top half stout) it's great. Generally referred to as a Black & Blue.
Another seasonal favorite, though from an increasingly large brewery (not sure it qualifies as a microbrew anymore) is Pete's Wicked Winter Ale. Just a hint of raspberry (hardly taste it). Otherwise a great hearty winter ale.
All time favorite seasonal ale, though, is Geary's Hampshire Special Ale. The ads say, "Brewed only when the weather sucks". 7.5% alcohol, great for those long Maine winters.

Pete's Wicked is effin' fantastic, but I haven't tried the Winter Ale yet. When does it usually hit the shelves?
[/ QUOTE ]
Should be anytime now, probably mid to late October. It's worth keeping an eye out for.

Any of the New Glarus beers from New Glarus Wisconsin. My favorite though is the Hearty Hop.
We have been drinking it for a while and whenever we go up to see my in-laws we pick up a case or two.
You may or may not have seen it in Maxim a while back. It was rated best BBQ beer. All of a sudden we found people stealing our beer out of the cooler. F-ing Maxim!
