I loved Dweezil & Ahmet when they paired up to do "Happy Hour" a variety show of sorts. Dweezil would rip into some old school EVH type shit during the opening and commercial breaks. Ahmet would be all smartass and abnoxious on vocals / general presense while Dweezil would smile and kick ass on gitfiddle while getting DLR on the scantly clad by design female dancers.

That was about 1999. Lasted about 6 months or so. Fucking network pulled the show, those urban lovin' asswipes. I'll take more cool truly entertaining shows like Happy Hour anyday. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Yeah but the Dweezil sit com was a typical gay family like one..he was a big brother in a family ..he had little sis , Mom and Da and shit..but he always had a guitar in his hands always mentioning EVH..I forgot the name of the show..it was early 90's I think.. I remeber in one episode Dweez was sittin' on a picnic table in the back yard with and acoustic guitar. He was splappin' harmonics on it like "dance the night aways" or the intro to "women in love" ....then he mentioned EVH...he said something to the effect of "I learned every note Ed has ever played..and I mean EVERY note!"

He always mentioned EVH..just about every show...which was just a few.

He should join VH and carry the torch Ed dropped about ten years ago.. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

On Happy Hr., Dweez would bust out his custom GMW strats and cut loose. He would cover songs and flavor them up with the EVH stamp all over it. It was a sight to see. Dweezil ripping while his zany shaved head bro Ahmet would do frontman duties. They would have celebrity guests, feature dancers, musical antics, etc. Why this didn't make it long term and shit like American Idol made it is a mystery. Not really. The masses are vanilla, spoon fed, and not that bright.

But I'm slowy seeing the mainstream / media coming out of Ebonica..after a duration of 13 years or so.

It's still there but now there is other flavors in the mix..

But , look who won American idol this year..just a couple years ago Scott Savol (an ebonical Bobby Hill) would have probably won. But a cute county singer and Rock singer with a pretty good voice were pick of the litter.

Nobody gave a rat's ass about any "rock" music three years ago...

Not "Jessie" from Full House, but Dweezil did a ripping EVH laced cover of Rick Springfield's one hit wonder "Jessie's Girl" on Happy Hour.
