I am just worried that the White sox have blown thier load. Priezynski who has hit 2 hrs today played it up though saying yesterday "Yeah we are the underdogs, the red sox are the better team. they are the world champions" Playing a little possum he looks ready for this series. Our staff is still a demon to get throuh though so hopefully...

the sox usually lose game 1 of a visiting series, and they usually also lose after beating up on a team (sunday's 10-1 vs. the yankees). tomorrow will be interesting to watch as well.

Two things may happen here:
- The W. Sox have blown their wad on this game and get the fat cat syndrome.
- The W. Sox know they can beat the R. Sox with pitching and their bats.
It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

I knew you'd be Sully. When I was in Florida, I heard the Yanks beat the Sox on Saturday (my b'day [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]), but I heard that the ChiSox and BoSox would be playing each other. I thought all the way around, it would be a win-win situation for you. No matter which Sox wins, they're gonna be in the ALCS series.

Yeah but Konerko was almost as bad. I grew up in a Cubby family and have always felt bad for Buckner since I always liked him. Poor Graf though. This is a game and is a series. What bodes poorly for the Red Sox if the Whites can pull it off though is that we play better on the road then at home. If we win this I feel some magic on our side. You realize that Chicago was the worst championship town forever for anything. Pre superbowl (Bears did win a in that time 2 or 3 times maybe) but before the superbowl was a staple it literally went from 1917 (sox) to 1985 season of the bears for a championship. The Bulls failed with the Sloan/Van Leer team that lost to Golden State when they were favorites etc. 59 Sox? Hell last night was the Sox first home win since 59. First playoff win since 93. Yikes!!!!!!! Granted our Chicago Bulls in recent memory were maybe one of the greatest dynstatys but Boston ruined the Baseball shame last year leaving the 087 cubs and the 17 sox as the biggest dry streaks with no one else close. Hell the 1919 Black Sox is a bigger curse than anything IMO.

it's okay man, there's still more baseball to be played. a few fast facts:

- red sox were down 2-0 vs oakland in 2003. they came back and won.

- i think we know that happened last year, too. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

- red sox have the best home record this year.

and hey, i remember the 85 bears and their 15-1 season (the one loss being to miami), i was hoping that they'd do well this year. and i, like you, probably shed a tear when MJ retired (and came back) and my god man, i'm sorry that you grew up in a cub family. you're lucky you got out. Honestly if MLB is behind this W Sox will win this year and the Cubs next year and Baseball will be nuts... The storylines would be insane
