Re: Pizza Delivery/Storage bags?

Toaster ovens rock for re-warming pizza. Unfortunately I dropped my toaster-oven-sized pizza stone.

I nick named my toaster oven smokey. It reheats pizza making it taste better than fresh from the box. I clean it often but it still smokes which pisses the wife off.

Cover cold pizza in a damp paper towel and nuke it for about 30 seconds or less to restore that "piping hot fresh-from-the-oven" goodness.
Won't give you a crispy crust, but it'll be hot and juicy like they just dropped it outta the oven at the shop.

A damp paper towel over just about anything in a microwave makes it heat better than a dry paper towel, and way better than those plate covers you can buy that are supposed to do the same thing.

Ziploc makes some Tupperware-type plates that are great for nuking as well - even with the lid partially cocked to let some steam out, the food is hot and moist. Rice, mashed potatoes, and spaghetti are the hardest things to nuke because of the starch, but a damp paper towel or the Ziploc plate makes them steamy-fresh.

Microwave frozen burritos (El Moterey!) in a sandwich baggie (put 2 in a baggie so they can share the love, but leave the bag open) for about 5 minutes (frozen solid) - 2.5 on either side, then dump them on a plate, cover with shredded cheddar or whatever, and nuke them uncovered for about 1 minute to melt the cheese (Velveeta Mild Mexican works good, and melts faster, though it's definitely creamier than shredded cheddar).

Nuked bread will stiffen up if it's uncovered, but you've got about 30 seconds between the time it's "just right" to the time it turns into a dough-hammer.

If you ever end up with excess grilled steak in the fridge overnight, dribble some water directly onto it (or pass it under the tap then shake off the excess), drop it on a plate, cover it with a dry paper towel, and nuke it for about 2 minutes (depending). Tastes like it just came off the grill, but more juicy.

Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

[/ QUOTE ] I gots a pizza story. I had a roommate that delivered pizzas. He would work late. One morning I went to my big old garbage can and openned the lid. There sitting on the top was a gigantic, never touched mega pizza. I opened the lid and it looked great. It was in mint condition, NIB. And it was delicious.

Hope it wasn't one of his "extra jizzy" special deliveries

And yeah, cold pizza does rock - aka Italian Cheese Toast with meat

Bill - Nuking effectively takes patience and practice - just ask Washington

Anyone try that Pizza Carousel thing you can get at like WalMart? Looks like a Pizza Record Player that spins the pizza around under a light off to one side. I'd rather throw one in the oven, myself, but you know how all that Modern Convenience and Kitchen Gadgetry thing goes
