  • When did the internet start sucking?

I was looking for some workout info using google, and just now figured out I can't find anything wiht it anymore. Well I can, but I have to wade through crap and commercial websites to find what I want.

What I want isn't google's priority, what they want me to find is. What is better than google?

I was looking for workout info -for free, but it applies to just about anything I look for on the web lately.

Re: When did the internet start sucking?

I couldn't agree more... I find myself searching through dozens of websites just to find something simple. I've given up trying to find really usefull things... I am probably just "search challenged." On the other hand, before the internet if I needed to know something I most likely could not find it and quickly gave up. I guess the information age has spoiled us all with the expectation of quick answers and the abundance of resources at our disposal...

If you're not getting what you want try getting more specific with what you're searching for, instead of searching for 'workout tips' try including things in quotes and focus in on specific things (exercises, lifts, etc).

Re: When did the internet start sucking?

The internet started sucking when it became accessible to "everyone".

At first, you had to be a bit of a computer geek to even get around (much less work a computer).

It quickly escalated to where everyone and their mother had their own web page about something they knew a little about, and there was no "regulatory committee" to guarantee accurate info.

When Madison Avenue finally realised that more people were surfing the internet than trolling the mall, they started the online ad boom.

Now everyone and their mother is an onlnine expert about everything, and for $20 a month via PayPal, they'll let you browse their Flash-powered, Drag-And-Drop-forged domain and download their video tutorials, and you get one exclusive video as a bonus for signing up for their spamletter and buying a t-shirt.
