That looks absoutely beuatiful Tim with your tasty contempory decorum . That would not look to good at my place. Wouldn't fit in with the overall look of my house. All gothic furniture , very dark wood through out , dark carpeting and natural wood , it looks like a place before electricy was used..like a time wrap 1890's ..

But I must say it looks GREAT at your place!!!

I had to sell all our brand new furniture when we moved here ..it was nice but way too "contemporary" it looked bad..I don't have a "cozy" looking home..

When I bought my first house the first piece of furniture that went in was the pool table, followed closely by the pinball machine, juke box, & bar. All, naturally, went right up front in the "formal living room". I threw a little party not long after and when I opened the door for a couple of women from work that I didn't know very well one looked around the front room, spied the toys, looked at her friend and said, "Obviously this one is single." My wife would like me to have a few scattered around the house but I don't do it. I keep all of my stuff in one room (other than the cases).

Wrong. I've got two kids. They've never messed up my guitars. And I let them play anything they want as long as they ask. Although I must admit that letting my youngest play a slightly out of tune electric mandolin through a cranked Vetta was not such a good idea.

Horns - thanks for compliments - my wife and I both love wood and things that are colorful. We're fortunate in that regard because we have very similar tastes.

Superfly - yes those are Longaberger baskets. My wife is very into those. They are very well made - it's quite impressive how much craftsmanship goes into making those.

Mine were like that for a long time. I never played any of them like that. For about 10 years the only guitar I played was my Takamine acoustic. I had almost completely quit playing the electric guitar until about 3 years ago. Then I got obsessed with the guitar again - that's when I started hanging all my guitars in my dinky office/music room. That made a huge difference. Then I started to play them all. And anything that didn't get played got dropped off at the FedEx Ground shipping office for someone else to love or neglect.

Thanks. I wish I could take credit. That's mostly my wife. I did spot the yellow chair and the couches at the furniture store. When it comes right down to it, I'm a man and if it were left entirely up to me we'd have a 7 foot air hockey table in there and a bunch of arcade style video games. Oh, and a dart board.
