My wife actually really likes this!

Re: Keeping guitars in the living room

Guitars are objects-du-art. They need to be played and displayed. Lean those pups all around the livingroom and anywhere else. I have had tons of guitars and I have never had a one be warped or whatever by letting it just get use to being out and not in a case. That assumes you don't trip over them. But, if you have a party you might want to think about putting them away.

My wife won't let me keep guitars in the living room... but I do toss em in the hallway when I get in from a gig, and wait until the next day to take em up to the guitar room.

I kept a rack of 'em in the living room when I had a 1 br apartment, but that was a space issue. Right now in the 2br apartment, they have their own room.

IMO guitar's should be placed where you need'em. that blue one does look awesome next to this seat and the wine, great match!!
I think I'd know my favourite place in your living room already...

[/ QUOTE ] Guitars should be within easy reach. If I want to play an old Harmony, I just lie in bed and and reach for it. (But, I am single), I have at least three electric guitars in the livingroom to play with. I don't have any guitars in the bathroom.

Yup, my guitars and amps are in my living room. At least the ones out of the case. Also the coffee table was covered with parts for the last week or so as I was working on a few projects. Hell, if my wife can have that hideous treadmill in the middle of the room then my guitars can stay too!

I keep one of my strats and a small combo in my livingroom. I also have my dads acoustic that sits in the stand that he had. It is a permanent fixture in my livingroom as well. The wife is quite happy to let me belt out a few tunes and play my acoustic at any time. BTW Tim, are those Longaberger on the coffee table?

                          Here's a couple more shots:

This is the guitar I keep in the family room. I actually rotate the guitar that occupies this stand fairly regularly.

Buy cheap-ass guitars and use them for the the posts on your stairs ( Ballisters?). That would get you on TV
