I thought this was just a bad rumor. I listen to Stern every morning. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge VH and DLR fan but I don't know if I could stand his ego or listening to the way he babbles through a 4 hour radio show. I'm guessing I won't be alone on this one.

DLR, one of the greatest entertainers of our time, onstage and off. Stern's bad wig / tired long running tits and ass schtick have been in dire need of replacement. Like the self proclaimed "king of all media" doesn't have an ego? [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Stern is going to Sirius. That is why they need to replace him on mainstream radio.

I just wish Roth would get his real gig back.

I had listened to Howard since the early 80's. I stopped a couple years ago. He is way too full of himself. It got way too stale. He shifts directions worse than the wind does just so it fits his current agenda.


I am not sure how DLR will go over, but I'll give him a shot.

DLR is just one of several new DJ's that are going to replace Stern. Not one person could fill Howards shoes.
At the present time, I have no desire or money to pay for satellite radio. I feel I pay for enough things every month as it is. Radio was thankfully one of those freebies. It will stay free for me as long as possible.

I'm an avid supporter of DLR period. Unless the stars align magically in the sky and everthing retros to 1981, it ain't happening again. Dave is quick witted and funny. Skills that will showcase well on radio.

Stern has always been about shock value. Cheap tasteless stunts with no imagination in attempt to secure large young male demographics. Not an artist. He's basically a Jewish nerdy guy who always wished he was a rock star. DLR established himself a huge rock star in a major band and is an interesting complex dude.

Well, it is now official, though it's not as severe as Roth replacing Stern. Just a day after a published article stated that Stern is basically irreplacable, Infinity and Howard Stern announced plans for his replacement for when he moves to satellite radio.

And how did he do that? By having Diamond Dave in the studio.

I've gotta say people, I don't think this is the over-blown DLR that has annoyed people with his off-stage antics. He was actually very docile and thoughtful. It sounds like he's going to go after the political type shows. I do have one critical observation from the whole thing, it doesn't sound like he knows what's in store for him in regards to censorship and the FCC.

New York gets DLR. LA gets Adam Corolla with Jimmy Kimmel as a Creative Consultant and Advisor to Infinity radio. And here in Chicago we get some got some loser named "Rover", but that doesn't matter, because... JOHNNY B is BACK!!!!!!!! (He starts Monday, bye-bye Stern)

Johnny B was on for a while here in L.A. in the afternoon a few years ago, on the same staion that has Stern in the morning KLSX. I liked the show, but it was a bomb here. They took him off after not too long and replaced him with the Triplets(Frosty, Heidi, and Frank).

I happened to hear the DLR stuff on Stern this morning, very different that what I was expecting. He wasn't in the "Diamond Dave" character mode, that can get way annoying(when it's a one on one thing, not stage situation) after a few mintues. He was actually interesting and human. What sucks is that here we get Adam and Jimmy, I would so love to get DLR. Adam and Jimmy for those who don't now started off as 3rd tier sidekicks on the KROQ morning(Kevin and Bean) show years and years ago. Jimmy was the sports guy and Adam played like this gerneral maitenance character. Mr Bergstrom or something to that nature.
