Re: I want a Steinway Piano!!!
I think the weight of that would burst the "foundation" of your home. Better check the load capacity on those Firestones.Scott

Re: I want a Steinway Piano!!!
I could put it the backyard. $61,500 for a "Baby". If it were fullsize, I could live in it. I am a true ass set to this board.

Re: I want a Steinway Piano!!!
Damn, that's a lot of cash! I can't see that selling at that price. Most of the time (not always) you're much better off with a fullsized upright than a baby grand anyway. Baby Grands are largely for showing off, and typically have string lengths shorter than a full sized upright. Heck, you could get a new Mustang and a Yamaha C7 grand for that price. Or, get a Yamaha YDP-223 and save 59K.Courtesy, Integrity, Self-control, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit

Dear, sweet Nikii just "Had" to have a new $70,000? piano. Oh, her poor, poor Hubby. I can see you married dudes. "Dear, I want to buy a 1954 gold LP for $70,000." She says: "Sure. Go ahead. It sounds like a deal. But, we may have to forgo our kids education; and a new SUV and re-modelling our 50 year old kitchen. But that's OK. I am sure you will get, at least, 15 hours of quality playing time." Re: I want a Steinway Piano!!!
Steinway is the best piano to ever play on.
the Full Size grands are AMAZING. I have a Baldwin fullsize upright and it plays fantastic as well. My family got it for about 12,000. It's alwaysa big purchase, but when you're into music as much as we are..then, those things are easily justified.

I always wanted to walk into a shop selling them, make up a fake business card and see if I could scare the shit out of some people...
[/ QUOTE ] Can you imagine a Steinway salesman? "Can I interest you in a $100,000 piano?" I know I am poking fun, but with all the electronics out there that can duplicate anything, why buy a tank when you can great sounding Jeep? Re: I want a Steinway Piano!!!
I have played the D-274 and it was sweet. I liked the Bösendorfer full-size better though, dunno why.
Last year, at work in Norway, I discovered that they had a SW piano in the cafeteria. It was totally out of tune, and I guess it had not been played for at least 5 years. As if that wasnt enough, some idiot (probably the janitor) had drilled several holes through it to secure it to the wall (the idiot thought someone was going to steel a grand piano)...what a waste
