Actually, Steinway & Sons factory in Queens, NY built glidders for the U.S. Army during WWII. On the otherside, (Third Reich) Steinway Hamburgh Germany built gun Stocks for the German military, of course after being seized by the Nazis. Well as the story goes, Steinway Hamburgh was bombed by the Allies. The Hamburgh factory was rebuilt after the war and builds Steinways for the european and asian markets.
