Cheapass airline tickets

Okay, I need a cheap airline ticket for a week from Tuesday, but for the life of me, I cant find an actual cheap ticket on ANY of these "buy airline tickets from us, were the cheapest" websites. I tried to tell Mr LPC if he had got the ticket back in the summer, it would have been alot cheaper, but noooooooooooooo did he listen?? So now Im stuck searching for a ticket around 500 bucks when all I can find are close to 1000...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im also looking for Cheap airline tickets right now and coming up with the same thing. Last year I flew for 225 dollars. Right now the same trip is almost 400.
