Chuck thats a gorgeous piece of woodworking there.

If your looking to get some nice instrument wood, I'd suggest Gilmer Wood (gilmerwood.com). Thats the supplier that my friend uses for all his building. You can occasionally get some incredibly gorgeous pieces of wood for cheap if your quick. Alot of luthiers use them though so the good figured stuff for cheap prices tends to fly out quick but they are constantly getting in new pieces.

Great work, man I wish I had the patience to do that kind of work.

Have your dad start spitting out guitar bodies and sell them on eBay

Come on, Em... you knew tha dovetail joints were used on acoustic guitars to attach/hold the neck to the neckblock/body.

Chuck, that friggin' rules. Puts my plywood "guitar entertainment unit" to shame, and mine cost several hundred dollars, not counting labor!

Wow, what a beautiful piece! I often wonder where are the artists (woodcraftsmen) who will pick up where people as talented as you dad, leave off ? What craft, what a talent, what a beautiful thing to remember someone by !

Chuck, what state does your dad live in, and does he take on any commissions? I'm considering having a custom bookcase made for my library of nice, rare illustration books...
