Dude, I am sorry, losing a beloved pet is like losing a kid sometimes.. a best friend who was always there and now has left a big gap where they once brought so much. Best thing to do is never forget them IMO. -

Yup. It's pretty bitter that after almost 15 years, there won't be that nice chap laying around anymore, always being nice to everyone... he was a Beagle btw.
Everyone but me lost it during the process. I feel kinda bad.Comment

Been there several too man. Major sadness. One was 17.5 years old, so, an old dear friend he was for sure.
Everyone handles these things differently, don't feel bad because you reacted differently than the others. It may just be your way to deal with these things.Comment

Maybe. I'll miss him a lot, anyway.
Thanks for the kind words everyone, we're going to bury him in an hour or so. Pet cemetary, with a coffin and stuff... can't bury pets in the garden in Germany. The absolute least we can do for a great little guy like him.Comment

I'm sorry for your loss, Baum. He sounds like a great dog, just remember that you gave him a wonderful life just as he gave you so much. He can never be replaced, but maybe after a time you can give your love to another good dog. I think good pets make us better people, don't you? My thoughts are with you.Ron is the MAN!!!!Comment

It is heart breaking. I have had to do it five times and it never gets any easier. It is the emptiest feeling I know next to the time I watched the coroaner wheel my mother's dead body out of the house and up the driveway, after she died! Wait a couple of months, then get another puppy! If you have hids, it will help them get over it faster!Comment
